Kevin McHale : Patrick Beverley can handle that.

No one has mentioned that we are 7th best at scoring after a timeout.

^^^ Posts #8 and 9 touched on it.

Aren't we better than 7th offensively overall though? If so, 7th after TOs would be a dropoff.

Has anyone noticed that we have the 2nd highest ppp in the half-court offense according to that chart?

    Yeah that's right, dummy fan.

Rox, regularly, are third offensively (remember that this is just half court, and excludes transition), and drop to seventh in this timeout stat; however, the Rockets still draw TO plays that are better than their overall offense by a solid 6.7 points per 100 possessions - it's just that other teams that were previously below the Rockets (Warriors, Lakers, Wolves, Grizzlies, Pelicans) have really high time out efficiencies - and this may be more a sample size thing than anything. Bottom line is that in a league where the average increase in offensive efficiency by calling a timeout is approximately zero, the Rockets are getting a lot out of their timeouts, there are just a handful of teams getting more. I wouldn't sweat the offense part of this study.

Whenever we take a time out we don't actually have good set plays to score. When the opposition takes a timeout I always cringe because I knew we will get scored on easily.
