Howard said the inspiration behind his surprising decision to add another year to his contract with the Orlando Magic just before the trade deadline in March 2012 was his desire to avoid being sent to the pre-Harden Rockets.

Is this the first time we can confirm this? I know many suspected that the fear of coming to Houston was part of Howard's motivation to re-up with the Magic, but I think this is the first confirmation.

Morey is the best GM in the NBA. Seems like a really great guy, too. Would be nice to meet him someday.

I know watching as an outsider over the last few years how D Morey has shaped this team I’m positive that JVG has developed a new found respect for him. I don’t think it’s likely that McHale doesn’t succeed due to the talent on this team but if they fail to get into the finals over the next two years would a JVG – Morey reunion be possible?
