    If it was one thing, he definitely wouldn't be considered at the top of a crowded field.

    Let's try:
    * he's unpredictable
    * knows the probabilities inside and out
    * reads opponents much better than they read him
    * maximizes yield on the good hands (see moes post about the slow-played flush, for instance. genius.)
    * minimizes losses on the bad hands

    Yeah, I think that pretty much sums up what makes him an excellent poker player. ;)

    Am hosting a big game next weekend and am stoked for some hold em.

    1/2 no limit is not friendly poker. How much is the min to sit down, $300-$500?? What is the rake?


    Havent played poker in a while but been looking for games in west houston/katy area.

    Reading this thread takes me back.

    I got into poker just like everyone else back when Chris Moneymaker won the Main Event and poker on ESPN really took off, but I lost interest pretty quickly.

    In hindsight, I'm glad I was in high school at the time I got into it because I didn't have the money to play a lot. It turns out that I was a truly terrible poker player, so if I had the means to play more, I would have just lost more.
