Let's just say I'm more of a collector than a player. lol. I've played 30% of the games I've bought. I really want to though so I buy them and leave them there.

I predict in the next few years, they will start re-doing many of the old games. Many of the same dynamics that make big-budget Hollywood studios re-do established movie franchises over and over apply to big-budget game development. It is just a whole lot less worrisome for the money people to sink cash into an established property, and with old games, you are looking at a whole generation of game players who are unable to appreciate the old games. So big budget studios will continue to do movie or comic book tie-ins, as well as sequals to previously successful games (which is a pretty recent development) and when those run a little thin, rather than do genuinely new content and concepts, they will recreate old games.

They are already doing it on a small scale with Rise of the Triad which is about as old-school a FPS as exists. If it works out, I bet you'll see people start to mine old games for content for new games on a larger and larger scale.

I guess I'm all for that. I played Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Loved it. Sad that I can only play retro games when they've been launched into modern gaming, but that's just me.

Bought GTA4. Probably going to get hate for this but I'm like 5 hours into it, and I dont see what all the hype is about.

It mostly feels like a taxi driving simulator, only you steal the taxis with no repercussions whatsoever.

Also got Bioshock Infinite though. Holy crap, that game was incredible.

Seriously? Most of the old Nintendo series are fantastic. I just replayed every Zelda from The Legend of Zelda to Majora's Mask a few months ago. Mario is an all time classic, unfortunately I haven't played one since after Super Mario Sunshine but I want to play them all. Don't even get me started on the hours I've wasted on Mega-man. Graphics aren't everything, one reason why I love counter-strike as opposed to Call of Duty...

    Just remember:

I've never played a PC game before. Any advice on what to get from this sale? Am I supposed to play with a mouse and keyboard or connect a controller to it? Thanks for the help!

Depends what you are playing. For the most part you will play with a mouse and keyboard. When I play retro games like NES or SNES mods I use a SNES usb controller.

It depends, what kind of games do you want to play? And can your computer run these games?

IMO, I'd play with a keyboard and mouse cause iI'm used to it. It's mainly more about preference.
Also, some games have controller support, and some don't.

Yeah my computer can run them. My brother built a computer a while back and he already has a couple of games (bioshock inf, walking dead).

I don't really have a preference for the type of game. It can be anything like strategy to shooter as long as it is good on the pc.

The worst thing about Steam is if you haven't logged in for over a year, sometimes you forget your log in information and don't remember what email acct or credit card you used to purchase games from Steam.. I have over 15 games on steam and I've yet to fuking play them all because I forgot my acct information and that's bullsh!t!!!! You mean to tell me my fuking name isn't enough to log into my damn acct???

That is pretty much on you if you don't remember your log-in information, especially your e-mail. Try searching through your e-mail for your account name and recover it that way.
