There's no danger of a poison pill. A 2 yr contract with a 3rd yr option, means that the Rockets can keep him for 3 yrs. When he hits the market, he will no longer be under the Gilbert Arenas clause (it only applies to players with only 1 or 2 yrs of NBA experience, not to players with 3yrs of experience). So there won't be any poison pill.

I assume agents have learned for the Parsons incident and won't give up the 4th year without some compensation. 3 years is enough for the Bird Rights, so the 4th year is a luxury we shouldn't bother paying for.

    THIS
    well done Skyhoop

There are misconceptions about the contracts Lin/Asik got.

The Poison Pill provision of the CBA ONLY applies to first round picks.
The Gilbert Arenas provision is what Morey used on Lin/Asik as it applies to second round picks/undrafted players.

Right, and ONLY on their extensions. The Poison Pill only regards traded a 1st rounder between the time they sign their extension and when that extension goes into effect.

Basically, it prevents a loop-hole where a team attempts a psuedo Sign n Trade via extension and trade of a first rounder coming out of their rookie scale salary.

I have a really good feeling about this kid, but I have soft spot for shooters. 46 percent from spot up 3's last year and 37 percent from downtown in a down year. I don't see he won't make it in the NBA unless he looks lost from the speed of the game.

I know we didn't get a change to see IC3 during Summer League play, but I'm really excited to see this kid play. 72% of his shots were jumpers, with Morey saying he's one of the best shooters they've ever scouted. Think we have another 2nd round gem on our hands.

He can shoot and that's a very good asset to have with a guy like Harden and even Howard.

Superb shooter, bad defender ball-handler and passer
Better fit for the Rockets than probably any other team out there

I haven't seen him play either, but Morey talked about his game being like Lowry's. He looks bulky enough from a pg perspective not to get pushed around. Not saying he is a good defender yet, but he has the potential to get there unlike Brooks who is built like me.

He is better than Brooks in every aspect of the game...right now.

He also reminds me of Aaron brooks but
With Kyle Lowerys build .......wouldn't it be great if he turns out to be a combination of both
