I've been thinking , I know we are more likely to get swept,
but still i would like the team to get ready on every aspect.
So what are the things the rockets team should prepare or take note of ?

Such as team defense in general.or how to defend durant .

Just like to know what you all are thinking.

I hope this thread is appropriate here :)

    thanks.

Harden and Lin have too attack the basket on every long rebound in transition and in the pick and roll game and find the open shooter if the defense cheats.
Get Ibaka and Perkins in foul trouble early and often.

Force Durant too shoot long range. He moves constantly without the ball so no easy backdoor dunks/lay ups.

    No Iso.

Get under Westbrooks' skin, Beverley's pest skillss will come in handy here.

This is one of of OKC's major weaknesses, Westbrooks' temper.

Don't have much in the to way of strategy and prep, other than please hit your 3 pointers otherwise we'll get ISO. If they go small with Ibaka at center, use Jones and T-Rob.

The rockets need to play team ball. Lin needs to step up and play his position. Its not only hardens fault, the team needs to stop relying on harden to bail them out. Okc is the superior team, the only way to combat that is through teamwork. We have to share the ball and the players have to play team defense. Nobody can stop kd or Westbrook one on one, we need to be fast and precise with our rotations and the guards and parsons need to help asik on the glass.

This needs to be the playoffs rotation:

    1 Lin
    2 Harden
    3 Parsons
    4 Smith
    5 Asik

    6 Beverly
    7 Delfino
    8 DMo
    9 Anderson

We can still stay big if we include DMo into the rotation and for God's sake all Garcia does is shoot 3's...(even contested ones). Anderson can do the same thing but he can actually drive, finish or create if the defense closes out on those corner 3's. And he's a bigger body that is suited for playoff basketball and can actually play defense.

D-mo isn't going to be in the playoff rotation. Jones is. And McHale will go with Garcia over Anderson unfortunately.

The only chance Rockets may have against OKC is let Lin dominate the ball, make it clear to the team that he is the floor general. The key player is Harden since he is even above the coaches. If Harden is wise enough he will play the stealth hitter (he did it in MSG) and let Lin direct the flow and tell other players to return the ball to the point.

    1. Defense is a team concept, everyone has to play in order for it to work. The team seems to know this, it just seems like Harden, some of them only play it when the team is in a hole and "has no choice".

    2. Effective use of your big men. The team attacks the basket but, we need to get our bigs involved more in the offense game in general so they can help get some high percentage scoring when we have a lead. Far too often this season, we shoot ourselves out of leads we build early on because come the second half we don't try to get our Power Forwards or Centers involved in scoring outside of transition buckets. Granted, we don't have elite big men scorers, but Greg Smith is decent and the rookies (Motiejunas and Jones) have shown somewhat able to score when given the chance. Harden is the money maker and the best scoring option but you don't have to always have him try to score on every possession especially if you have can see he isn't making his shots.

Motiejunas is playing terrible we can try him out and like Lin if he's playing like a child we don't need them or their childish ways on the court. That's why Jones is playing he at least plays like a man.

    1. Delfino needs to be a better post defender and rebounder.
    2. Lin and Parsons need to be better at catch and shoot with a hand in the face.

What we need is refs that will call touch fouls for Harden. It really throws him off his rhythm when he is not getting all of the calls he usually gets. Lin just needs to stay in control while attacking. Parsons needs to unleash his swag. Smith/TJ come into the game angry and aggressive, they need to understand they should not worry so much about how they play but about their mentality on the court. And Asik needs to take the concrete gloves off his hands.
