Road Rage suspects bond out of jail A Lenoir County couple bonded out of jail Monday night for allegedly attacking a driver in a violent case of road rage. Deputies say 40-year-old Bradley Turner from La Grange took out his anger Sunday morning at another man who cut him off while driving. Turner allegedly started punching his victim, a man in a white baseball cap, after following him from James City to his house in Newport. The victim's friend shot cell phone video of the whole thing. Eventually the suspect's wife, 30-year-old Christy Turner, came out with a gun. Deputies say her husband shot at his victims, missing them, but hitting the victim's car and a neighbor's home. "That's a big concern, because you never know what will come up next," said Antonio Suban, whose home was damaged from the gunfire. Deputies say Bradley and Christy Turner turned themselves into the Lenoir County Sheriff's Office Monday afternoon. 9 On Your Side had a crew at the magistrate's office as the couple was getting booked. Bradley Turner has been charged with discharging a weapon into property, two counts of assault by pointing a gun, Going Armed to the Terror of People, Injury to Personal Property and Assault. Christy Turner has been charged with two counts of assault by pointing a gun. link
LOL. Yeah, it's not that people shot my house -- I'm fine with that -- it's just the idea of where that might lead. You know, like shooting my fishing boat or my dog or something.
The news video through link is pretty humorous as well -- '...those guys give Turner quite the beat down...' [anchorman voice]
Funny to see the guy who got beat the **** up in the mug shot. Not really sure what the wife did that was illegal (assuming she fired no shots).
By the time she got the gun out, there was reason to be a little fearful considering how it was going. I also didn't think she pointed the gun at them so much as showed it to them to get them to quit beating her aggroman to a pulp. Terrible lawyer? I don't know, maybe if it doesn't throw the punch it doesn't get the hose.
Interesting title thread "An example of a responsible gun owner" Its obvious that he is anything but and is facing criminal charges for his actions. I can only assume that you are championing the laws already in place as strong enough to deal with irresponsible gun ownership like this. I agree.
I really have no clue, but in this situation he followed them until the stopped came to their car ad punched the driver inside his car.
This thread really has nothing to do with the current gun argument -- it was just to serve as an example (somewhat humorous) of someone doing everything wrong while carrying a weapon.
Yeah, i'm thinking they will drop charges on her -- she never actually points it at them and her lawyer will find many different ways to show how she wasn't aware her husband threw the first punch. She'll probably argue that she thought her husband was being killed and was bringing him the gun to save him. Beyond all that... a 40 year old man with his infant daughter in the back seat does something like this -- what a f'ing psycho.
So does the video capture the shots fired? Because I'm not seeing it. Maybe he shut off the camera as soon as that started going down.
The gun owner initiated the entire thing by punching the guys in their vehicle...They can claim retaliation...and gave the gun owner a proper beat down...I dont know if the kids in the truck were innocent at all, but they have video evidence of the gun owner acting irresponsibly...and discharging his weapon twice...guess the couple was beating down physically, financially, and emotionally...
I'll take your word for it but it is in the Debate and Discussion forum. I trust you can understand why one might think otherwise.
Thanks -- and if you review my posts on the subject (as a gun owner) you'll see my thoughts on the subject are for the most part 'pro-gun'.
I hope they throw the book at this moron. He deserves a lot of hard time. Get him off the streets before he murders someone.
