Bomb Threat - University of Texas Campus Evacuated

I've been to Europe. What the hell is 14 o'clock? Not American, that's what.

I think you're talkIng about a 24 hour clock aka military time. They still use 60 second minutes and 60 minute hours. It's more a difference in the presentation rather than the system itself - like they put the day before the month so 9/14 would be presented as 14/9 still the same thing.

 

They need to work on their emergency notification system. I have been going down to the bus stop to tell the students to quit waiting.

 

"Hello, this is Al... Al Qaeda... yeah I know, I've been hiding for a few years. Anyway, I'm planning to bomb the **** out of UT today, totally... gonna blow that place to shreds, so uhhh... you know, probably wanna evacuate the campus because that suckers gonna blow... Al Qaeda out!"

Better safe than sorry. Imagine the consequences if these hoaxes had the slightest bit of truth and you didn't err on the side of caution.

Hope they find the ****er that made the call.

 

Weird, I almost posted this when I heard, but didn't see any news outlets reporting it so assumed it must not be real.

I shouldn't laugh just in case this is real, but +1 for this.

 

It's actually true, I have some friends at UT who had to evacuate. Apparently it's not a panic up there, most people are just joking around about it.

 

Yeah, my assumption at this point is that the guy is full of it.

 

No one is saying the evacuation isn't real...that's undeniably real. And the university is smart for doing so.

The question is whether it's just a hoax...whether the guy is serious. I'm hoping it's a stupid hoax and that everyone at UT enjoys their day off.

 

Obviously fake terrorists do not give you a warning...

But if the call was made at 8:35 why wait to 9:50 that's cutting 90 minutes that were given pretty close.....
