This is Morey's last year on his contract. The lowballing has gotten Rockets nowhere and the key players (dragic, dalembert) have gone without any replacement. Fact: the biggest contract morey has gotten in his rockets career is Trevor Ariza 33mil 5 year contract.

I know the offseason hasn't ended but it just looks bleak so far.

Hoping for some luck because the rockets really need it.

Feigen reported that Morey signed a 5 year deal last season. So, 4 more years.

As much as i'm dissapointed in Morey this offseason, I still would rather have him as the GM than anyone else, although he really messed up with the whole dragic situation...

Lol...ever since when did Dalembert become a key player?

Losing our backup PG, SG, SF and starting C (who didn't even average 24 minutes a game) while bringing in 3 talented rookies is such a horrible offseason.

I thought people said we shouldn't have signed a Dalembert stop-gap solution ...

So signing is bad, letting go is bad ...

He did acquire both of the "key" players; them leaving is kind of the natural course of things. The Dalembert trade was to position us for a top 8 pick or a big splash veteran trade; it didn't pan out and that was completely outside of Morey's control other than knowing in advance that the Bobcats weren't going to trade down the draft and instead chose MKG at #2. Dragic is good. I like his style of play and I like that he is almost always guaranteed to have 1 inbounds pass steal a game. He is, however, replaceable. The point isn't so much to lowball a contract, but to not over pay.

We have a lot of time left, we have serviceable options still available for trade or FA signing. We can make peace with Lowry and move forward this year. We have a summer league to scout a bunch of potential backups. Patience.

The real good news is we have 4 new rooks coming in this season from which to rebuild with. They seem to be a good group to.
If we are finally able to get Asik, part one of our rebuilding phase, getting size, will be done.
