$13M extension for 2 years in Philly. Seems cheap. Must have failed to chew gum very well while walking.

Free agent center Spencer Hawes has reached agreement on a two-year, $13M-plus extension with Philadelphia, league sources tell Y! Asik is surrounded by great defenders and has the best defensive coach in basketball. He won't have that in H-Town.
Carlos Boozer, when surrounded by the same great defenders and coached by the same best defensive coach, does NOT perform nearly as well when defending.
Philly's efficiency differential with Hawes on the court: -3.7. With Hawes on the bench: +5.7 By the way, Omer Asik has the highest Drtg on the Bulls. FYI Texnificent. As a matter of fact, the team was at it's best defensively while he was on the floor.
Agreed. Hawes is a jump shooting big that plays zero defense. Ideally Hawes is coming off your bench for some points. He's basically Brian cook but with a better jumpshot
Word. I laughed when someone on 610 (this is why I don't listen) said Hawes was in the running for starting center in the 2011 All-Star game. Must've forgotten about Dwight, Perkins, Noah, Horford, GREG MONROE, etc.
unbelievably weak argument. You need to stop reading DaDakota. Thibodeaux doesn't protect Asik...Thibodeaux gives Asik minutes to protect other people. Reality is so far in reverse of DaDakota's logic that you copied it's almost not worth responding to...except for the fact that I've seen this weird-verse mentioned like 57 times as some argument to say Asik is not a good defender when in fact the best defensive team points him out there for the very purpose of playing Yaokim Noah's role on the defensive end. stunningly poor bball IQ that DaDakota is showing here...and you too. DaDakota really has little care or knowledge of the defensive side of the ball. You know why, because he needed protection.
Different type of players.... One plays very good defense and is a zero on offense... The other has a nice jumpshot and is a zero on defense. Just a matter of what your looking for in your center. I'll take asik. Regardless both guys are role players.
I watch Spencer Hawes single handily destroy Asik and Noah in the first round on the playoffs, and play pretty well againist the Celtics in the 2nd round Asik is an overpaid BUM
