I've just bought a house and get paid time and a half, it's not like i cant get by without the money, but it's handy to have at the moment, it wont be available forever so I'm taking what I can right now. Obviously I can't complain because I'm choosing to do it.
I work 7 days a week but generally only a few solid hours a day. It is sporadic through the day and I am 'on call' with the phone 24/7 - 365. I field calls from 5 am to midnight but it may only be 2 to 3 calls an hour 5 to 10 minutes per. On the computer doing order processing through day. On a busy day I might work 6 to 7 hours but my biggest beef is it's EVERYDAY. I last had a day off in early spring 2007 Not sure how much longer I can go still not making half of what I could make working for the man. the linking strategies are not easy. It's a lot of work and you need to have websites to promote too btw. So it's on you to either have sites already or have sites you want to make, then you need to know min wordpress etc. You can hire out at odesk or elance or whatever it's called but that all costs $$$ too. That adsense for profit and many of the revenue streams can be nice but you really really have to fight it. Also you may have a site make 3 , 4 dollars A DAY so yeah that's an extra $90 in your pocket a month, but you need about 30 sites to really start doing anything. Do you realize how hard it is to maintain 30 sites? You have to have resource preferably deep pockets, to hire the programmers and the folks to update the sites. You will have overhead. Yeah it's not investing in a quiznos or throwing down 100k, but you need to be aware its a road. Labor intensive for at least the hardcore beginning. At some point you have 30 sites and you do minimal updating and collect. That is the idea. Go for it but it's not as 'passive' as you want to think. That guy it smart because he is going the don lapre/tony robbins route and making money from people going to his site talking about making money. It's a better strategy than don lapre and putting 'one ad in one newspaper around the country' sure. The linking strategies this pat guy is promoting are neat to say the least. In fact I recommend the link and there is some SEO I am doing right now from one of his videos. So yeah the guy is good , and I think it's great that much of what he is offering is free consumption. Overall it's a very interesting sector but don't go in thinking it's no work. ..Now let's see if I can get some of my sites from page 4 to page 1
I have a non-labor intensive job in which I work 12-hour days for 1 to 4 weeks straight away from home. Longest I have had to work is 47 days consecutively at a different position, though I have had coworkers do 50+ days. What's a blessing and a curse is the time off. You get to recover and have all this freetime...but sometimes after a couple weeks its too much freetime.
I worked 14 hours a day for 90 days straight on the BP oil spill in Louisiana. Living in a hotel for three months and eating out every meal got old real quick. Made over 30 grand. After the first month I was on auto pilot.
I did in college, but I got to a point and said who am I trying to impress and seriously I am not in any competitions to become the next Wonder Woman.
Sometimes if you're younger and have less of a family life than your co-workers; or you're not really looked at as a leader, or even an equal, then the only commodity you have is your time: so you have to max that out just to say to others and yourself that you put forth the effort.
