Kobe must have been on the bench.

No way Morey thinks acquiring Gasol makes us a contender. Future move to come.

Its a means to an end, as long as we keep Lowry he's a clean upgrade from Scola and the same age.

As for the other filler pieces, we already have more good NBA players than we can fit in the rotation, we need great players, and Gasol is that. Not a superstar, but he is a great player.

As long as we keep Lowry i love the trade, with Lowry it's a lateral move for an older player.

Lowry would probably have to go to get Gasol. Which means our we are gonna be stuck with two soft players to lead this team.....and one of them is old and overpayed.

Morey has assembled a bunch of good value players that obviously is only immensely valuable to us. We are going nowhere.

Thats what happens when you are ordered not to rebuild but to try to contend with spare parts.

This pretty much somes up how I see it.

Keep Lowry then do the deal. We have plenty of pieces to fit in where we trade and Morey has built this team to be able to handle a contract like gasol's and still have solid talent around to work with.

Lose Lowry then there would have to be some very nice future moves to justify it.

Prior to his presidency, Bill Clinton gave a speech at the DNC that was so long you could see people making "kill me" and choking-themselves gestures in the audience. I'm not saying anything political here. The point is,

Keep the posts at a reasonable length. PLEASE.

Already posted? Though nothing really new.

[rQUOTEr] While the rumor of his imminent departure was obviously overblown this time around, there was some substance behind it. According to multiple league sources, the Lakers have continued to field calls and listen to offers for the talented Spaniard. While there were talks with the Houston Rockets in recent days, nothing became serious because the Lakers aren't inclined to move Gasol unless they can get an All-Star-caliber player in return, most likely a point guard.

I would be excited to see what a Lowry-Gasol combo would do on the court. This would be the first time Gasol would be playing with a top tier PG...and we all know how big men benefit with a good pg.

So yeah...I would be okay with trading anybody/any package except Kyle Lowry for Gasol.

Not to mention how Kobe hogs the ball every single game. Not enougj touches for Pau. Give the ball to Gasol at the post on almost every possession and it's either we get wide open J's or the defender would get killed or resort to fouling (shoots a good % on the line too). He basically can shoot from anywhere inside the three point area, a polished post up game and yeah crazy length.

He can do this, he can do that...that applies for another super talented former Laker by the name of Lamar Odom, did you guys see what happened to him in Dallas? Pau is due for an epic breakdown like that once he leaves the Lakers. Just look at last year's playoffs his decline started already, only Kobe is making him appear to be better than he actually is
