I'm not saying it's bad at all, he just needs to learn some post up game and play better defense. Otherwise, he's going to look like stat when his athleticism starts to go. His potential is through the roof high!

Wow. First off, I never suggested kyle for Pau straight up. He asked if people would trade Lowry for Gasol and I said I would. I know the salary wouldn't match straight up which is why I've suggested trade ideas for Pau where it belongs, in the random trade thread. Also, what do you mean I asked what he would do, not what was realistic? So if I ask you a question, its ok to answer with something that is impossible? I knew he couldn't come up with anything and he proved it. Lastly, he called me an idiot because I disagreed with him. Maybe you should read the 1st page.

Here is what I think Mr. Rowdy...

You can't trade Kyle for the Spanish Penis for many reasons. One is AGE. Kyle is in his mid 20's and only getting better every game he plays. Who knows how good he will be! The SP is 31. Granted, he is a great player, but is he a player that can lead a team with a soft 2 who can only score and a bunch of solid role players??? I don't think so. The only way you do this trade is to know something else is coming. Everyone said Nene was the next move earlier this year. Now that is smart!!! If there is no one else coming over after the Penis is in Rocket Red then this trade blows. Finally, I like players who play with balls. Kyle has big gorilla balls every night he goes out on the court. Pau has little to none. It just doesn't make sense to me...

Trading Lowry = It's tough but okay because we can acquire a really good player and even leave room for Llull.

Acquiring Gasol = Hell no stupid contract for Mr.Softy who doesn't want to come and play here.

Would you trade our '09 bench busts for Kevin Durant? I would. The trade machine says it will work. So, it's possible. Will OKC agree to the trade? I hope so, but if they did, their GM would be murdered and his killer would not even be arrested.

I did read the first page, and I agreed with him. I also thought your response was so weak, you didn't earn the right to call anyone names. You'll find my reasoning below in your last quote.

    The End.

If that's how you feel, then let's all march down to Toyota Center and demand Morey trade our 09 busts for Kevin Durant or Lebron, just because it's "possible." I get off at 5, so I'll meet you there? I'll be standing by the main entrance.

Have wrestled with this idea for a few days. I can't even find a suitable Gasol+more trade for Lowry that I would want from LA.

    Even Gasol+1st falls short IMO.

Gasol would sulk his ass off in Houston and would not play hard til he retires in 3 years.

Still waiting for confirmation that acsorelle4 will join me in our crusade to turn the Rockets into contenders. Anyone else wanna join? We're gonna trade our 09 collection to OKC for Durant, Courtney Lee and Dragic for Blake Griffin, and Kyle Lowry for Kyrie Irving! Who's with us?!

Yeah. This is the problem. The Lakers don't have anything anybody in the entire league wants aside from Kobe, Gasol, and Bynum. The only way they could get us more would be to trade Bynum in a three team deal, and it's tough to envision them trading away both Gasol and Bynum unless they're getting back Dwight Howard in the deal.

Gasol > Lowry based on skill alone.

I'm still surprised so many people think Lowry is more talented than Gasol.

I voted I would trade Lowry for Gasol. Gasol is a win now/compete for championship move. IF Morey plans on making multiple moves to build what he believes is a championship team, then I advocate a Gasol trade because he is clearly the better player. Gasol, based on my opinion, is a top 5 big men in this league. Or if a Gasol trade is made in order to set up a DWilliams or DHoward move, then I'm for it as well.

But a simple Lowry for Gasol trade, given the same roster and no additional moves, makes no sense for us because it would only slightly increase our chances of winning a championship, if that. Obviously, this trade would make no sense for Morey if we aren't in a position to compete now. You obviously keep the younger and lower paid player if you are building for the future. Gasol at this point is less valuable than Lowry as he would only rot while we look to build and would destroy our cap flexibility.

However, given that the Lakers are always in win now mode and Gasol is a top 5 big man, there is no way they move him to Rockets for Lowry and Scola. The Scola contract should alone keep the Lakers away. The Lakers aren't stupid. They only move Gasol is if he shows dissatisification with managment like Odom did.

KLow isn't just some talented PG that can be easily replaced. I heard the Toronto announcers say that KLow is the only player in the NBA that's averaging 15 points, 7 assists, 5 rebounds and 2 steals a game (though to be fair, he's only averaging 1.9 steals as of today).

That's not the kind of player that you treat as any other asset. He's a star on the rise. There are few players you give him up to get your hands on. I'm pretty sure Pau isn't one of them.

Lowry, like I said a million times since the trade proposals for Gasol back earlier in the Fall/Winter. We have no business trading our best players who are still fairly young for a power forward who is a side piece himself and cannot carry his team on his shoulder. Moreover, I was in the party that was against the trade. For Martin and Scola, I would prefer to have a better player or more players in the mix or at least some draft picks. Gasol by himself was a little disappointing.

With this team, it's more of an issue of adding players, instead of losing players. Trading Gasol for Lowry would be a lateral move, we get worse at point guard, but get better on the front line. Not enough to get past a really good playoff team. Record is about the same or worse.

The thing with Gasol is I think he's a rare type of finesse player who is also very well rounded on the court. He can shoot the outside jumpers, play beautifully in the post, a great passer with nice court vision, not bad on defense, and surprisingly good rebounding player late in his career. Two problems, his age and his hunger. He's in his early 30s, while his hunger shows that he is not exactly a go-to player and may not have the same type of fire playing for Houston versus Los Angeles. From his vibe, he did not seem to want to come Houston. I do not understand the premise of trying to get a player does not necessarily want to play for a certain team in a certain city. Leaving the Lakers for the Rockets, that's a downgrade.
I would trade anyone on team for Kobe or Bynum, easily.

    I would do KLow/Bud for Felton/Batum. Hmm.
