I'll be honest when I was growing up, I wore out Keep Your Hands to Yourself. I couldn't get enough of it. I always thought they were underrated band. Great songs. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/16Ur45vTtw0" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/4gVcQLO5VGE" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/jgOrrdO1Y10" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Nothing better than being drunk at a bar when "Keep Your Hands to Yourself" comes on while turning to the nearest cute girl to give her a sexy smile. Yes, easily one of the most overplayed country rock songs next Freebird.
Definitely underrated. I used to love the "In the Land of Salvation and Sin" album. Never could find anyone else much who listened to them though... and even this thread doesn't appear to have been looked at much.
As most people know around here, I love a lot of music and the Georgia Satellites are NOT one of those bands.
Well, Stalin was an ethnic Georgian, so they lose points there. Russia has leaned on them for centuries, but I don't think you could call them a satellite (not plural) any more since the USSR fell apart.
The only song worse than that one is this one: <iframe width="420" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/g5FnGoheN94" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe> And yup you guessed it, Dan Baird was the lead singer for the Georgia Satellites, so his solo stuff blows as much or more chunks than his band stuff!
If you can't get laid to this song, you're truly a nerd. I suspect all the rage in the thread about this little ditty is pent-up frustration. When you tried to get you some, she really did say keep YOUR hands to yourself. bawhahahaha
Jason & the Scorchers are good, but so are Satellites. I doubt if anyone ripping on them has heard more than one song. Even that song is better than anything ever done by Radiohead.
