The biggest reason to bring in a vet like Favre is the possibility of losing Yates. If that happens, the Texans will be starting a QB who was probably living in a cardboard box before getting another chance.

I'm convinced that if any QB looks good, the voodoo God's will take em out. Leinart with short passes the entire half, throws a nice 20 yard TD pass under pressure...you're done buddy.

I just don't understand how our team can be so unlucky. :(

Farve vs Rodgers in the SB.. I like it. at this point we're on our third stringer.. no SB's are won with 3rd stringers.

true, as was said, if our goal is get to the playoffs - be happy, go with T.J. - - -If it is "this could be a rare year", you have to pick someone up. . . and that is no knock on T.J., but he is still a rookie and untested QB regardless of whether he looks gold against Atlanta

Considering Favre's age, the fact he hasn't seen game action in almost a yearh, his injury riddled 2010, this TO riddled 2010, his lack of knowledge of our system, his attitude and the fact that he has never been a "game manager" willing to rely on a great run game (see Peterson, Adrian), yeah i would say it would be the dumbest thing to consider.

    possible dialogue:

"Hey Brett, you think you can sit behind a rookie QB and another street free agent?"

"Hell no, I'm Brett Favre dammit!"

    or

"Hey Brett, can you be a smart efficient QB if we bring you in?"

"Hell no, I'm Brett Favre dammit!"

Per Peter King - Rick Smith on Bret Favre: "I don't see it. I don't want to bring that circus to town".

He is worried about the circus? Shouldn't he be worried about bringing a Superbowl to town?

well i'm sure they've already considered it, so now that the dumbest thing the franchise has ever done is out of the way, we should sign him!

If Brett "small" Favre and Smith aren't interested then who? I'm sorry but I am not ready to believe in Yates. Hopefully he proves me wrong.

    SI_PeterKing Peter King
To recap:Hou GM Rick Smith says he doesn't see team calling Favre, who texts me he's not up to it. Plus, he hasn't thrown a ball since 11-4.

    SI_PeterKing Peter King
Think the most likely signee by the Texans is Brodie Croyle. Could play Atl next wk with TJ Yates 1, Kellen Clemens 2 and maybe Croyle 3.

    SI_PeterKing Peter King
Favre told me via text no teams has called him to discuss playing.
