Your head's probably the perfect temperature for cooking them.

If UCLA sneaks into the Pac 12 title game, and maybe does the unthinkable by beating Stanford... then you add in beating SMU (7-3), Tulsa (likely top 25), and SoMiss (likely top 20), UH's SOS takes a giant leap forward.

Charlie Palilo laid out a very plausible scenario for UH to make a BCS bowl (regardless of what happens to Boise) on yesterday's show. He seems to think the Orange bowl is most likely, but the Sugar isn't out of the question, while the Fiesta bowl is virtually a non-factor since it has the first At-Large pick.

What we need to happen is for as many Big 12 and SEC teams as possible to get crammed into the top 14 by years end, that will help our case for At-Large selection since no conference can have more than 2 teams in the BCS bowls.

So, we need to root for UT, Kansas State, South Carolina, Georgia, Auburn, and we need to root against the Big 10, ACC and Cincinatti (the likely Big East champ). College football makes for strange bedfellows.

Pifft, 30-40 points. Maybe that is what UH would score in the first quarter against LSU. UH would be running up and down the field so fast on LSU a worm hole would be created, where suddenly UH finds themselves playing the '85 Bears. The ass whooping continues, The Fridge is carted off the field due to exhaustion and Ditka forfeits at halftime with UH up 70-3. Book it!

Hmmm. I guess the theory is for the SEC and Big "12" to get 2 teams each plus 4 other auto births. So that's 6 teams. Add Boise and UH in this scenario and that would mean that only 2 non champion teams from the Big Ten, Big East, ACC, and Pac 12 could be in the top 16 for this to work.

As the BCS standings are right now, it works. The Big East has no teams in the top 16. Pac 12 and ACC have 2 and the Big Ten has 1, though they have 3 teams just outside of the top 16.
