We've combed through the last 30 years of movie marketing and selected our 66 favorite film taglines from that period.

The cut-off of 1980 means we've left out what many consider the greatest movie tagline ever—"In space, no one can hear you scream," Alien, 1979—but there's plenty here to chew on. Berate us in comments for everything we left out.

    1) The 40 Year Old Virgin (2005)
"The longer you wait, the harder it gets."

    2) Alien vs. Predator (2004)
    "Whoever wins, we lose."

    30 Alien3 (1992)
    "The b**** is back."

    4) Arachnophobia (1990)
"Eight legs, two fangs, and an attitude."

    5) Armageddon (1998)
"Earth. It was fun while it lasted."

    6) Army of Darkness (1992)
"Trapped in time. Surrounded by evil. Low on gas."

    7) The Big Lebowski (1998)
"Her life was in their hands. Now her toe is in the mail."

    8) Boogie Nights (1997)
    "Everyone has one special thing."

    9) Buffalo Soldiers (2001)
"War is hell ... but peace is f*#!%!! boring."

    10) Catch Me If You Can (2002)
"The true story of a real fake."

    11) Chicken Run (2000)
    "Escape or die frying."

Some of those ones suck. A lot of 'em actually. 40 Year Old, I Am Legend, Army of Darkness, Jarhead, Office Space, Poltergeist II, Schindler's List, The Truman Show are awesome with honorable mentions to Jurassic Park and Men in Black.

    Some ones they forgot:
Return of the Jedi "The Empire Falls"
Phantom Menace (hey the tagline was sweet) "Every generation has a legend. Every journey has a first step. Every saga has a beginning."
Face/Off "In order to catch him, he must become him."
    Anything from LOTR or HP
Sunshine "If it dies, so do we."
Kingdom of Heaven "Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Safeguard the helpless, and do no wrong."

I wish I could have sat in on the lame ass editors' meeting when they chose this list. Forced laughter and enthusiasm for 20-year-old movie poster copy or a lot of synchronized "mmmmm"s and "ohhh yeahhh"s when they heard a "good" one.
