    Center= ..............................Sampson
    Power forward= ................ the dream
    Small forward=.................. yes Scottie Pippen
    Shooting guard= ...............McGrady
    Point guard= .....................kyle lowry

    Almost went steve francis at point but I'm going lowry for a slightly better 3 ball.

    Very interested to see what you guys come up with I know my team can be beat with a solid stretch 4 man but I think the best the rockets had was horry. You have to stick to current or past rocket players ONLY? Let's see yalls teams!!!

    pg - Murphy
    sg - Mcgrady
    sf - Artest
    pf - Barkley
    c - Akeem

    Ron, Charles and Hakeem would be a defensive powerhouse. I dont think this team can be beat. If you think so.. Bring it on....lol

    SG - McGrady
    SF - Artest
    Pf - Hakeem
    C - Mutombo

    C: Yao Ming - Shotblocker by default. Deadly post game.
    PF: Hakeem Olajuwon - Shotblocker. Deadlier post game.
    SF: Tracy McGrady - Deadly perimter player, great court-vision.
    SG: Clyde Drexler - Good perimeter player, explosive.
    PG: Steve Francis - Explosive, fast PG. Will hold family hostage to force him to pass the ball.

    I think your right about francis I should have switched him out instead of lowry, but I would have liked to see yao vs sampson.

    C- Hakeem Olajuwon
    PF- Moses Malone
    SF- Tracy McGrady
    SG- Clyde Drexler
    PG- Samuel Cassell

    I love Sam, but I just realized the Rockets have never had a truly great PG in team history.

    I gotta go two deep at least. And I'd probably have a different dream roster on a different day. I have too many favorite Rockets. But Pippen? No way. He's an anti-Rocket to me.

    C: Hakeem Olajuwon/Yao Ming
    PF: Charles Barkley/Chuck Hayes
    SF: Rudy Tomjanovich/Mario Elie
    SG: Clyde Drexler/Cuttino Mobley
    PG: Calvin Murphy/Bob Sura

    C-Mutumbo
    PF- Hakeem
    SF- Glen Rice
    SG- T-Mac
    PG- Sura.

    The 2 Greatest shot blockers of all-time, and a BIG back court with Sura playing the point. I would expect this to be greatest Defensive team ever.
    Rice in his prime was better than Reggie Miller.

    C Hakeem/Malone/Yao
    PF Barkley/Elvin Hayes
    SF Tomjonovich/Battier
    SG Drexler/McGrady
    PG Cassell/Francis/Murphy

    I don't think this full roster has a lot of weaknesses we are vulnerable to being posted up by tall point guards, and we don't really have an efficient 3 pt bomber. I don't think it's that big a deal though.

    C = yao
    PF = Sampson
    SF = Hakeem
    SG = Clyde
    PG = Tmac

    Big lineup that would dominate in a half court setup.

    C Moses Malone - Give him the advantage over Yao, not by much though
    PF Hakeem Olajuwon - Easily the greatest, better fit at the 4 than Moses
    SF Shane Battier - Teams needs defense and shooting, not offense
    SG Tracy McGrady - Toss up between him and Clyde
    PF Kenny Smith - Not the best PG, but team needs a shooter not playmaker

    The greatest player line up would have Francis, Clyde and T-Mac at the 3, but this is the lineup that i think would play best. People forget how good a shooter kenny smith was, he was a 45% 3 pt shooter in the playoffs

    I'll give Yao the benefit of the doubt because of his spectacular soft touch. Hard to find that in a big man.

    Ralph is definitely a shoe-in athletically. But a healthy Yao is just too crafty.

    I know this is pure fantasy anyway, but I can't help taking chemistry/how the pieces would fit into consideration. For that reason, players like Stevie Franchise and even T-Mac to a degree, are held in lower esteem than they otherwise would for such a list. In turn guys like Robert Horry or Otis Thorpe become more valuable in the context of team-play and knowing one's role.

    Style of play also comes into consideration - I used to love the lineup of Cassell, Drexler, Elie, Horry and Olajuwon that was the crunch-time squad for the 95 championship - the way they would get out in transition, Drexler pushing the ball forward, with Olajuwon as probably the deadliest trailing 5 ever...

    But if you put Yao on that team instead of Hakeem it obviously is nowhere in the same league, even in a relative sense (taking away the obvious that Dream is Dream and Yao is not Dream) because Yao just wouldn't fit as well into that team's style of play.

    In a half court offense that would feature a combination of Hakeem, Barkley, T-Mac and Drexler, at the point I actually can't help but consider Kenny Smith, just by virtue of the fact you need a shooter to spread the floor - and not necessarily a creator like Cassell.

    Dream is the 5.
    Barkley at the 4
    If T-Mac could be Facilitator T-Mac, he's got to be your 3, no questions asked. Battier would have been a great fit with this team as well with his shooting and defense
    Drexler at the 2
    Smith or Lowry at the 1 (somebody else said it - we have not had much luck with point guards - of course I am not counting Murphy as a true 1...then again I guess neither was Kenny - I still refuse to call him the Jet)

    Steve Francis as your instant offense off the bench, similar to Cassell's role during the run (and as far as bench spots go for instance offense, Maxwell also should be given consideration - if his demeanor could have handled the role)
    Horry to back up the 3 and 4 spots
    Yao to back up the bigs
