So about 6 or 7 years ago when Xbox live was a big thing I had one and signed up and played hundreds and hundreds of hours of Rainbow Six 3. Now I hear all the time about people playing COD and a few others on Xbox 360 live. I don't own one but was wondering if it's as fun as everyone says. Also wondering if it's safe to buy a used Xbox 360 from Amazon, some are going for about $170 from sellers with thousands of reviews.

Since Halo 2, when has Xbox Live not been big? Of course its awesome. I would consider a slim model used from an approved seller, but a new 360 isn't expensive. You can get a brand new one for $200

Definitely buy a new Slim, ain't that much more expensive than a used console. XBL is the best online experience by far, even most of the PSN users admit that.

buying a used 360 is risky since many people do the towel trick to keep their system alive for 2 weeks after a red ring of death. I know someone got scammed here on the bbs buying a used 360 from another member.

I played hours of Rainbow 6 3 as well. What was your gamertag?

It was either greenhippos or supergreenhippos. With the hours I put in, there's no doubt we weren't killing eachother at some point.

Thanks for the advice guys, I guess I'll play it safe and buy a new slim from the store.

I echo that you must get the Slim model. Even if you pay a bit more up-front, you'll be glad you don't need to have it repaired 87 times.

I just hit level 50 tonight myself... and now that I've hit that milestone I figure it's a good time to just play other stuff and wait for Battlefield 3.
