Guess who the Rockets will end up with on draft night

NBA Draft 2011

14.(Trade) Kevin Martin + 14th pick to Milwaukee for the 10th pick + Corey Maggette + Unprotected 2012 Milwaukee first round pick. (Rockets take Bismack Biyombo)

23. Nikola Mirotic (Classic Morey stash move, if he was more interested in the NBA he would be drafted in top 20.)


38. Tyler Honeycutt (Takes a slip to the second round where Morey scoops him up with a Budingurrr like pick)

 

For some reason I can see us ending up with Biyombo. Not sure if we'll move up for him or we just wait for him to slip to us.

If we do move up to draft him we won't have anymore picks this draft so that's it for me.

 

Darius Morris won't make it to #38.... Here we go with the guesses.

We have to come away from this draft with a cornerstone (not necessarily franchise) player. Whether that is an established veteran with a few good years left (IE Iguadola) a younger guy with big potential (like Javale McGee) or a high draft pick type. Players in this draft that fit under that category to me are Kanter/Williams/Knight/Irving. Obviously we would probably take Kanter or Williams. I like both, but go with Williams and then get Vucevic a bit later.

1. We draft # Vucevic @ 14, Morris (if he falls) @ 23 and the best over seas prospect remaining @ #38.

2. We trade #14+Luis Scola+Jordan Hill+Terrence Williams to PHI for Andre Igualdoa

3. Chase Budinger+#23+Memphis Obligation+ Brad Miller(insurance and great contract next year saves them some coin to Phoenix) for Marcin Gortat.

 

We draft 2 Nikola's with our picks. Vucevic at 14 and Mirotic at 23. Chandler Parsons at 38.

 

Lee + Hill + 2012 Knicks pick to Chicago for Asik, 28 and 30.

With #14 the Rockets draft Vucevic. Rockets trade 23+28 to Charlotte for #19 and draft Donatas or Jeremy Tyler, whoever is there.. With #30 Rockets draft Mirotic and stash him overseas or Jeremy Tyler if they pass on him with #19 and he is still available. With #38 they draft Keith Benson.

 

Would love if we pick up Jordan Hamilton and Nikola Vucevic with the 14th and 23rd pick. The second round pick is a was , BPA.

 

Morey is the GM, not Kevin McHale.

 

I'm having a feeling that Asik will be our starting Center next week..but still praying for a bigger name player.

 

Scenario 1 Stay Put

Rockets stay put and draft Klay Thompson with the 14th and Honeycutt with the 20th, and Jeremy Tyler with the 2nd rounder

Scenario 2 Move Up

Rockets trade Martin, Williams, and the 14th pick to the Wolves for Pekovic, Flynn, Webster, and the 2nd pick.

Rockets Draft Derrick Williams with the 2nd, Iman Shumbert at the 23rd, and Chandler Parsons with the second rounder.

Scenario 3 Trade out

Rockets trade the 23rd, Scola, Thabeet, and Williams for Iggy and 16th

With the 14th pick they select Biyombo, with the 16th they draft Motejunas, and with the 2nd rounder they select Nolan Smith.

 

Really???? List the great things CD did for the team that you want him back. Fans never cease to amaze!!

 

Rockets trade up for Jonas Valanciunas using 14th pick, but not 23rd. They snag Nikola Mirotic with 23rd.In two years time, the Rockets have the front court of Adelman's wet dreams.

 

well... i hope people here realize one things first:

we do NOT have a guranteed 2012 1st round pick (NY's pick is protected) that means, we can NOT trade both 1st round picks this year without an un-protected 2012 1st pick in return.

the only way we include multiple 1st round picks now is to trade ONE of this year's 1st picks + NY's pick (protected) + Memphis' pick (protected)

1.) Patterson + C-Bud + #14 + NY's pick + Mem's pick For Irving @ #2

2.) K-Mart for Danny Granger (Lee can start @ SG for Rockets & Paul George can start @ SF for the Pacers)

3.) Scola + Lorwy for Bosh OR Gasol + 12' pick

4.) Yao's healthy and re-signed; Hayes resigned
