5k is a lot to spend on a mattress, but they come with 20 year warranties. Probably be the last mattress you ever buy.

I had a Sealy Posturpedic before I bought a Tempur and I can tell you without hesitation that the Tempur is WAY better and definitely worth the extra money. The Tempur seriously changed my life. I had terrible back pain before and the day after I got my Tempur it was gone and has stayed gone.

I just bought this memory foam bed off amazon - Sleep Innovations 10-inch Sure Temp Memory Foam Mattress

Had it for about a month and love it so far. I'm still young and apartment hopping around the country so I'll just buy a new one whenever I move. That being said, I will likely purchase a genuine Tempur-Pedic bed once I settle down in a permanent location.

Well, we just bought a new bedroom suite over the weekend, and from what I understand you have to have a platform bed frame to support a foam mattress. The suite we bought didn't have one, so I'm thinking we're just going to go with a pillow top mattress set instead.

Went on Overstock and found this:

    http://www.overstock.com/Home-Garde...p-King-size-Mattress-Set/5229605/product.html

The reviews are almost all 5 stars. I'm thinking this will have to do for now and perhaps we'll splurge and get a Tempur Pedic the next time around.

My wife and I just bought a new mattress... we first went shopping at the big retailers and the Tempur-Pedics were just way out of our price range.

I was referred to a discount/wholesale mattress joint that sold a brand called Superpedic, which I think is a Tempur-pedic knockoff produced by a local company in Houston. Anyways, I bought one of these tempurpedics with a 12" memory foam queen-sized mattress for $600. I've had it for a week now and it is great!

    Agreed.

I spent 5k on mine, and as much as I want to, I can't regret it. And while most mattresses have a 10 year warranty, Tempurpedic goes 20.

    Gotta do it.

Yeah they talked us into the special boxspring needed for Tempurpedic. I was hesitant at first to get it but ended up doing it. Still not sure if they're really required. We'd gone through several expensive pillow top mattresses before buying the Tempurpedic. They killed my back and would always end up with huge indentions after a while.

Here's a quick rundown of the differences between latex and memory foam beds.

Where can i find decent twin mattresses for under 200 bucks. I find it hard to spend 400+ on a mattress when my kids weigh 30 lbs.

I got a Sealy latex that started sagging badly. I sleep on the left side of the bed, and when I rotated it, I would end up on the right side of the bed.

I've read good things about latex, but the Sealy Reflexions latex I got SUCKED.

Now I have a tempurpedic and I love it.

Macy's has some Serty or Sealy sets for 249. Ikea seems to be more than that at least online. I was hoping for under 200 and a place where I can pick it up from.
