The only thing disappointing to me about Wallace is his ability to hit LHP. He is hitting .225/.279/.275 against them in 43 PAs. That isn't going to get it done.

If this team was trying to compete, they would use Lee and Wallace as a platoon. Lee is still crushing lefties, while Wallace is crushing righties.

Agreed, Wallace's numbers look remarkably similar to Baggy's ROY season (same OPS+ of 139). The key to Baggy's evolution as a hitter, though, was him bulking up and pulling the ball more. Wallace already has tree-trunks for legs so it boils down to him pulling the ball more.

I would freaking love to see Wallace evolve like Baggy or Puma but he seems like a pretty refined product already.

While I think Baggy's development was physical, I think Wallace's maybe mental. I think he has a pretty high baseball IQ, I'd give him two full seasons to get to know the pitchers and make the necessary adjustments.

That being said, I agree, Baggy and Berkman were franchise altering players while here. I don't think Brett will be that but hewill land somewhere between John Olerud and Lyle Overbay, high batting avg/obp guy who will drive in runs and hit about 20-25 bombs eventually. Actually, he is the ideal #3 hitter as he will probably be the best hitter on the club for years to come and if he isn't then it's good news.

This is going to be a long day for Brett, luckily they have Doug Davis going so it should be a shootout.

Carlos really...REALLY. You don't hit for power anymore and don't steal bases so you get picked off???

Bases Loaded and you pinch hit with Sanchez instead of Wallace or Downs?

    Bourn with a HUGE hit.

I wish he'd walk more and get that OBP up to at least .360.

Bourn is a rich man's Willy Taveras. I'd hoped he'd put it all together but after 4 seasons, he is what he is.

Well done Mark, nice to have a solid closer.

Great series for the Stros, nothing more you can ask for.

The only thing better than beating the Cubs, is SWEEPING the Cubs. Love it.

I kind of feel that I don't mind if the Astros go 17-145 as long as they are 17-0 against the Cubs.

all those losses to the Braves would kill me. my favorite Astros win to watch is a good ass-kicking of the Braves.
