In a universe where we're on a Houston Rockets board and it takes all of what some of us can muster to give someone like Dirk Nowitski props. What next, a Tyson Chandler testimonial? A DeShawn Stevenson tribute? A Jason Terry... never mind.

Marion? inconsistent. usually gets hyped up as a star more than he is. he's a good-to-very-good player. Nothing more.

Tyson Chandler wasn't even a Mav for the majority of his career, and I would have been thrilled to have him here last summer.

Props to him for figuring out how to defend Durant as the series wore on. That and his timely offensive contributions were big reasons why the Mavs won.

He's got to stop missing those easy layups when they play Miami though. They could really hurt Dallas's chances.

Because he has one of the top 3 worst shooting releases in the nba right now along with our Chuck Hayes, but the dude is still balling out on both ends of the court. Just absolutely active.

What does that have to do with anything? Neither has Marion- he was with Phoenix much longer than any other team. I'm just not that jazzed up about tribute threads to Dallas Mavericks players- surprise, surprise on a Rockets board nonetheless.

Its a tribute thread, if you want to hate, gtfo and start a hating thread.

I like Marion, the guy has always been a class act. The transition from max contract All-Star to solid role player is impressive and something which most players are unable to do. Obviously he has weaknesses but he is a solid all-around player.

Don't really know the reason as to why he needs an appreciation thread (players on the Mavs like Dirk/Kidd are probably more worthy of an appreciation thread), but might as well appreciate.

Good point. Seeing Marion and the rest of the veterans adjust their games and buy into the team-first mentality has been really inspiring. It's like the NBA version of the Seven Samurai/Magnificent Seven.

Yeah, it seemed like he would no longer be relevant since leaving the Suns, but he's found his niche again. T-Rex jumpshot FTW.

What's worse, seeing his jumper actually hitting, or the constant missed dunks and layups? I gotta imagine the Dallas crowd groans like we used to whenever Rafer shot the ball.
