    She represents irrational thinking, both in terms of religion and alternative thinking.

    I consider myself pretty rational but there's always a place for irrationality. It often leads to ill-advised and un-calculated risk taking, which may lead to scientific revelations, if only one in a million.

    And yes, I know a few religious people like the girl.

    I'm sure they didn't make it too obvious just so they don't garner too much controversy. I see your point though, she just seems like a run-of-the-mill hippie.
