This has been a big enough issue that it probably deserves its own thread. The White House has released Obama's long form birth certificate: http://www.whitehouse.gov/sites/default/files/rss_viewer/birth-certificate-long-form.pdf I saw this link as a "Breaking News" headline on an MSNBC.com site story and there was no commentary on it and this doesn't seem to have more info than the short form so I have some skepticism about this, just this document not that Obama was born in the HI.
Just to add I doubt this will put completely silence birthers and personally I think this was a weak political move on the part of the Admin. as it shows that they were bothered enough by the birther movement that they had to go through with this. That said I would like Thumbs' money now.

Just heard on NPR that Obama has said that the issue of his birth has become a distracting side show so he has moved to get his birth certificate released. So this is the real deal. One thing I don't understand is that HI law had forbidden the release of the long form, but I guess as President he can do it. Still a weak move in my opinion.
Agreed. Weaksauce. The birther thing was funny, and this will accomplish NOTHING. Will the birther morons shutup now? Highly unlikely. Will the birther morons suddenly support Obama? Virtually impossible. Dumb move is dumb.
Why are there so many people focusing on this stupid issue? If you don't like OBama or don't agree with him fine, but trying to prove he is not born in the US is just plain stupid and nuts.

It is not dumb at all, for the birthers (as you say) will continue to spread thier falsehoods though they have been proven wrong. The only thing that is dumb about this is the birthers.

Obama is such a joke. If he was going to release this, he should have done this a long time ago. Otherwise he should have just held his ground on the issue. All this does is makes him look very weak. Your president just caved to Trump and the birthers......congrats.
