If Rubio agrees to play for Houston and is able to play in NBA in 2012, would you be willing to trade Lowry for him ?

No,Rubio is overrated. We need a big man,not a PG.

Want height? Good D? A point guard that can switch the pick and roll? Get rebounds? But most importantly, make miracle passes that can give any coach a heart attack??
    Then Believe in Dragic!
He's already Ricky Rubio. I was big fan of Rubio and I still am.. but why go after rubio when lowry has all-star skills and dragic is pretty damn good himself?

Yes, these are the kinds of bold strokes a team needs to make to get to the championship level.

Is it a guaranteed success? Nope, but Kyle could have also had a career year last year, and Rubio is generally seen as a future superstar.

So, yes, and if it doesn't pan out, at least we will be drafting at the top of the board.

I love how people (not the OP but just everyone in general) use phrases like "agrees to play with" as if he's somehow a better player than even our backup PG lol.

    Hell no.

Name me the last time a star PG put a team on his back and took them all the way.

And that's going with the most absurdly optimistic scenario conceivable for Rubio transitioning.

    Focus on a stud SF and/or C.

We've got a good thing going with Lowry and would be smart to ride it.

    No.

We don't even know how good Rubio is or how good he will be in the NBA. One thing we do know for sure, Rubio is not a scorer.

Kyle Lowry is already everything you could ask for at the PG spot, and considering his contract size, that's a ridiculous bargain.

What we need is a superstar/big man. We need a closer.

Rubio might pan out to be a good player, but he would at best be the second option in a team. We need a first option.

Ricky Rubio and Kevin Love for Kyle Lowry and Jordan Hill, yes.

    Otherwise, no.

    Hell to the no.

    Fixed.

I've seen too many reports around here of him sucking it up in Europe that have made me skeptic of him. Would I trade this year's Lowry for draftday Rubio from 2 years ago? Hell yes, but not for the Rubio of today whose progress has stagnated according to reports.

Why would you need Rubio to be that good to justify trading Lowry for him? (Lowry is also a PG, by the way, and won't single-handedly carry us to the championship either with your logic.) We still have 14 other roster spots we can use on players to help Rubio get there.

I don't know much about Rubio, but Morey reportedly feels he could be a game-changer as he matures. That would make it worth losing, say, Lowry and the #14 pick.
