What the Hell are you talking about? Im talking about the fact that a team has to have a CONSISTENT QB to let the WR's take over games. Quincy Carter made plays yes, But he was inconsistent.
moe, you are right, the Cowboys do need a goto offensive player, either a rb or qb. Dillon doesn't make the Bengals a better team than the Cowboys though. Yeah he's a workhorse, but he hasn't been able to carry his team to anything close to winning because his team sucks ass. I wouldn't say that the Cowboys are leaps and bounds above the Bengals, but they are better. Oh and btw, there are very few wideouts capable of carrying a team imo. Esp if they don't have a good qb throwing to them.
You said we had no guys who could take over a game. I gave Galloway and Bryant. You said they couldn't do it without a QB to give them a ball. So, their carrying the load was actually made by QC. Just trying to make sense of what you say. You do know that the Bengals have the worst o in the league, right? And as for Correy, he's averaging 4.2 yds a carry. Not bad...but so is Emmitt. So, Correy can carry the load...shouldn't Emmitt as well? We also have good players on D who can help hold the other teams O. Just ask, and I'll talk about them.
To a point, I agree. We need a QB, imo. With a good QB, the RB, either Emmitt, Troy, maybe Willey, or a draft pick, WR's and other guys can all do well. But with a bad QB, we can't do that. BTW, I've been giving names and examples because if Dillon is one of these guys, we got some of them then. WOO 12 yds for the record.
Hmm...what do you know. Galloway just made a play, and he was wide open. And I don't think it was all Chad because of the TD, btw.
I would trade any of those guys you mentioned to get Dillon. And just because he got a td on blown coverage does not make Galloway a workhorse. That was bad d more than good O.
Galloway sure does seem to always be around bad D often, isn't he? As for Dillon, I probably would as well, even though he probably won't do much better with this line. But we got some guys who can carry the load. I have high hopes for Troy Hambrick. He's averaging 4.6 yds a carry, and I think he had 5 last year. I think if Emmitt wasn't here, Troy would be doing very well. That's why I'm not so high on getting a RB with a high pick in the draft. So...basically we got some workhorses, like the Bengals. Probably more, imo. But what I was trying to tell him was that we got exciting players. Somehow, this changed into a workhorse argument.
Every WR the Cowboys have is average at best. You are joking yourself if you think they are any good.
Bryant may be an avg WR, but he's a great rookie WR, at least. I think he leads the NFC in most of the wr's stats. (forgot which ones. I think yards is one.) Galloway is still coming back from injuries, in fact he's mostly been using only one hand, and he's been doing well. He's got blazing speed...we just can't get him the ball. After those 2, it drops off big time. Rocket would have been helping a lot, but he's had too many injuries and they're beginning to catch up with him.
"Bryant may be an avg WR, but he's a great rookie. I think he leads the NFC in most of the wr's stats. " NFC rookies? The only real NFC Rookie WR is Stallworth and he's been hurt. (He was doing pretty damn good before his injury)
Ok, so he would still be 2nd best rookie WR, which I'd still say is pretty good. He made some nice catches and is getting better every week. I'd say he's been doing well. Hmm...did you see his catch?
So this means Bryant is no way at all above average? Right... BTW, you haven't said anything about Galloway. What's your excuses for him? Edit: How long is Stallworth out? If its serious, that could affect how good he could be, making Bryant better. With a QB like Brooks, Bryant could do better as well.
Galloway has speed yes, but he hasn't produced at all as the top WR on the team. Bryant isn't above average. He's the 4th best rookie WR. It's not exactly a big accomplishment.
The Bengals have one workhorse. The Cowboys have none right now. They have no one who can put the team on his back offensively week to week. Yeah, the Cowboys have a pretty easy schedule, which leads to them being matched up against bad defenses. Galloway is having a decent season so far this year(not a great one, but great compared to last year), but he still isn't anything more than a complimentary piece imo. I'm against using a high draft pick on a rb as well since there doesn't seem to be a really standout one in this years draft. I'm not sold on Hambrick but we'll see soon I guess.
But is Galloway above average? I agree he hasn't produced the was he should have, but he's been above average, imo. I'm not too familar with the rookie WR's. Can you give me their names and teams? I know Stallworth has a pretty good team and QB to support him, so he has a bit of an advantage, imo.
