PF. He is effective guarding Centers but we need a Center who can protect the paint when people drive into the paint.

Chuck seems like his natural position is Doggy rather than Missionary.

Funny, if positions are defined by defensive assignment, how do we know the player he guards is a C? Does that guy guard Hayes or does he guard Scola? If the guy guards Scola, and if Scola is a PF, then the guy is a PF. But Hayes is guarding him, so Hayes is a PF. But if that guy guards Hayes, how do we know they are not both PF?

    Dang, my mind just exploded.

    Good point. :(

Let's say the center is the guy who plays closer to the basket then.

I go old school college style when I define where The Wagon plays... define positions they used to (and Pat Knight still does). Some coaches only defined three positions: Point, Wing, and Post. Chuck plays "Post."

(Aside: It was kind of like when we had Battier and either Artest or Ariza at the 2/3. They didn't neccessarily play 2 or 3, they played "wing.")

Chuck can share the minutes at 4/5. He will always be valuable to us.

Chuck Hayes is the Honey Badger of the Rockets. It doesn't matter what position he plays or the guy he defends; they all run home with their tails between their legs.

    PF

Clearly, our lack of personnel (or balance) forces him to do otherwise.

Would you trade Chuck and Hill and maybe a draft pick for Gortat?
