Did anyone listen to Mack Brown's radio show yesterday? If not, here's a quote I heard and did a freakin' double take at my radio! "spousal and pet abuse are down this week because everyone is beating up on me." way to settle people down Mack. While the statement didn't offend me at all, I was still shocked to hear him say it on the air.

Someone asked about UT simplifying the offense after losing to OU for the past two years and why we didn't simplify from the beginning this year. Mack's response: "yeah, we're all pretty stupid" WTF!!!!!

there's no way we can simplify the "stellar O" we've put on the field this season. Benson up the gut; 5-10 yard outs and slants to roy, b.j., sloan; and the horizontal 1 yd pass to roy. if we get any simpler, we're the cowboys.

I don't know how many chances we will give Mack Brown. All he needs to get over the hump is some badass coordinators running the show. He's obviously not a good gameday coach or motivator, but he doesn't need to be. All he needs to do is recruit and let his coordinators do the work. Davis is a nice guy, but UT will not win anything with him running the offense. Bowden made a great point when he said the playcalling was designed to prevent the QB from throwing interceptions. This is not a Simms thing. The Longhorns choked when Major was playing QB as well. Unlike Major, Simms can't work himself out of jams. Mack is one of the top 5 coaches in college football so I don't think he is going anywhere although if FSU called, I would let them talk.
A funny thing I read today, one of the Hornfans mods called out a reporter from the Daily Texan. The reporter happens to be a student just like the football players, however, the football players are offlimit to personal attacks. Oh well...

We have struggled to a 5-1 record this year, that is true. But I'd take our last 4 years over ATM's anyday of the week.
So would I. I'm not saying that A&M has had a wonderful run the last few years. I am saying that Texas will never be able to attain their goal of a national championship if they fire their coach every 4 years...and call him the next coming of Darryl Royal.
