If we dont make the playoffs, would Rudy's job indeed be in danger?

I think if we do not make the playoffs, and there are no mitigating circumstances, Tomjanovich's job is not 100% safe. Alexander wants to sell tickets and he will not be able to until we get into the playoffs.

seriously...let's cross the bridge when we come to it. And we aren't gonna come to it, because Rudy will never be fired. He will retire when he wants to.

I do not think he will either. He rules this town. I just figured with all the speculation, it would be an interesting "what if" poll.

I don't think is enough room in that poll for all the arm chair coaches in this forum. :p

This would NEVER work. The NBA has a "formal" dress code for its coaches. :p

rudy will retire after winning another couple of rings with steve, griff, cat, and yao. then i would expect some rebuilding and a new young up-start coach. look for someone that will be ready to coach an nba team in 10 years. maybe he is a young college coach right now.

I didn't, but will say for the record that Sloane is a hell of a coach.

What about Mr. Mean? I won't reiterate the 'Rudy isn't going anywhere' posts, but if you want to be realistic, why not consider the assistant coaches?

Allstarmobley, I'd seriously consider dropping the Rockets like a cow patty if that ever happened. Let the ZenMeister stay in L.A. and play his mind games there.

Calvin Murphy would be a fantastic choice, but Mr Mean has paid his dues.

Ya know for all that Zen crud that Phil spews, the guy really is a genius when it comes to basketball.

I dont agree with allstarm necessarily because both coaches have their own advantages over each other. I think it just depends on what kind of talent is on their team.

I'd rather have Phil Jackson mop the sweat off our court when the big fellas go to the floor.

Don G, your sig sounds like what a 40 year old female ex p*rn star would want most in life.

It's okay though, mine's no fun itself...at least yours made someone laugh.

I would keep Rudy over any of those on that list. Only Rudy and Phil Jackson have excellent player handling skills. They both also have championships. Still, Rudy has done more with less.

I mean look at Rudy's performance at the Worlds when he coached there, he did great considering his team, yet the 'great' George Karl humiliated all of us with a team of almost all-stars.
