Okay, so here's my problem, I live in an apartment complex, you know the kind, everything and anything in this place is stark white and no matter what I buy to try and make it harmony(ie work together) all the colored curtains just doesn't hide the god awful white walls. So it seems like I got one of two choices: either I cram so much stuff on the walls to cover up the walls or I resign myself to the fact that I can't make my apartment look nice. My current problem is my god awful window that is 6 foot by 8 foot or something like that. It has **** brown dividers and four panels. So I bought a colorful kaki red, green and cream curtain which looks terrible. I need some idea, I think that part of my problem is that I don't know how to hang it right to get the best, most out of it. Any ideas?
Paint the hell out of the walls and buy a few cans of matching white paint and repaint that biatch when you move out. Just dont tell the management and pay off the toiler fixing crew to not say a word.

The problem I have with these decorator websites and books for that matter is that the spaces that they decorate are places that look good WITHOUT furniture in them. Other than that first pick, (which basically cluttered the wall with pictures to cover up the white) the rest of these places you could put a ratty couch in and it would look good. That's how they trick you. I don't know, this seems like it is beyond my skill level. Painting seems to be my only way, or finding a nicer place that wasn't built in the 70s.
