    Amy Ryan is a goddess. If only she looked like Natalie Portman so she could get more roles. She beasts many of her roles. When I first saw her on The Office I thought oh what a normal actress, then I saw Gone Baby Gone and she blew me away. I couldn't believe that was her.

    Amy Ryan needs more love. Hollywood and popularity shouldn't all be about good looks, boobs, and ass.

    In terms of raw quality Meryl Streep and just about every British actress over 40 or not named Keira Knightly have gotten her beat. I'll put most of her age contemporaries ahead of her: Laura Linney, Maria Bello, Hope Davis, Frances McDormand.

    If Hollywood weren't about ass and boobs than Amy Ryan would have to get in line behind Kathy Bates, Helen Mirren, Alfre Woodard, probably a few others for roles and acclaim.

    Adams is well on track to surpass Ryan, talent and acclaim-wise. She may not end up having Ryan's range but she makes very good script decisions and does non-neurotic vulnerability better than alot of actresses in her age group.

    And she was gorgeous at one time. Just re-watched Manhattan last night; long face and nose but objectively beautiful, especially in the black and white.

    Since when is Amy Ryan about ass and boobs? im pretty sure she is not considered one of the hotter women in hollywood. She is attractive for her age, thats about it

    I didn't imply she was about ass and boobs; in response to the OP, I implied that there were several other more talented actresses who suffered more because of their lack of good looks than she did. She's not the best actress alive or even near it, and she's not getting any less work than she deserves because of her age or looks.
