Now, according to Asia-Basket, Harris is coming back to the CBA, this time with the Shanghai Sharks. After being cut by Houston just prior to the regular season, it was reported that Harris had a contract all lined up with the Zhejiang Golden Bulls. Since then, however, Zhejiang has moved on, signing both Mike James and Josh Boone to deals and now Harris is a Shark.

Harris has done well to put himself in a great position to improve on his game and one day get back into the League.

Or has he?

According to the Hangzhou Daily, Zhejiang, the team Harris was reported to orginally have signed with, have sent in an appeal to the CBA to block the move citing an official contract that the player had signed with the team before being cut by the Rockets on September 21st. According to the contract, which can be seen here (albeit in teeny tiny letters), Harris, who is represented by Datt Sports Services Inc., signed and agreed to a “Prior to Term” while he was still under contract with the Rockets that stipulated “If and when Player is released at anytime during training camp (before Nov. 15, 2010), this contract will take effect 2 days after the Houston Rockets release Player from his contractual commitment and Player clears all waivers with the NBA.”

The appeal has already been accepted and the league is blocking the move pending further review.

With the signed contract in his hand, Zhejiang general manager, Zhao Bing, is arguing that Harris breached his agreement and must be held accountable, saying “no matter what team he was playing for in China, we would do a thorough investigation.”

Appeals, emails, contract drama… yeah, it must be getting close to tip-off here in China.

For reason, I came in this thread expecting to read about Harris fighting a Chinese dude over a bag of rice.

Ironic since I'm half dead writing a paper at the Rice library.
