i'm not sure there is one, and no, it doesn't change anything- those kids are still dead.

but why did this guy have a gun? and why did he fire it?

Is the revelation that the guy had a gun new?

Seems the new info is just that it may have been fired. And, if so, then the reports at the time were fudged.

But I still think the 70 second gap pretty much negates any 'justification' or even mitigation to the acts of the National Guard, no? It was never beyond the realm of possibilities that someone had a gun in the ol' land of the free.

Do you see anything here that changes your view of the events -- other then just filling in info?

Well the "cover up" if there was one, was apparently intended to protect the FBI informant, and potentially by extension the FBI.

Yes. If someone posts it who believes it's true, and is interested in discussing it, then it could be interesting. If someone posts it who doesn't care whether the post happens to be true, and has no intention of discussing it then it isn't really interesting. As soon as anyone wades into the discussion pool, basso gets out of the pool and leaves. Others come in and clean out the urine and feces he's left behind, and basso pretends it never happened.

It really isn't interesting. If a person posts who is open to a discussion, then it could be interesting.

I've stopped responding to any basso post. There is little challenge in debunking the crap he posts, and it serves no purpose anyway.

That deserves an honest answer. I can give you one. I generally don't post in threads started by members I have on ignore. Usually when I do, I end up regretting it.

Because on some morbid level, we are all just trying to figure out if someone can actually think like basso or is it just an act.

and yet, neither of you two (NYer or DECKArd) made any attempt to discuss the OP in good faith.

    most curious.

What's there to discuss? Next thing you will post something on the JFK assassination.

Why don't you start ACTING in good faith and maybe people will REACT back likewise.

    Okay, I'll play.

If you give credence to the story, it seems the implication is that the murder of innocent students, by our own government, was precipitated by an individual acting as a government agent.

Seems to me, if you accept this new "evidence" it makes this tragedy even more heinous.

    i'm not disagreeing.

it's unclear that the guard knew who had fired, only that they felt they were being fired on. they also said they were being hit with rocks. IIRC, investigators hired professional baseball players to try to throw rocks from where the students were to where the guard stood, and none could.

it seems to me someone panicked, and opened fire, or gave the order to, with no clear direction. it may be a conspiracy, but it's most likely just what it's always been- a national tragedy.
