It's official: Refman is for real and the ppd King of the CC.net!!!

IROC-it did about 1000 posts in one weekend, or so it seemed. He has been rarely heard from since.

Then there was the infamous Pinetree1960 or something like that. He sustained a 40 posts per day average for almost two months.

 

I thought Pinetree was Glynch.

 

Who would have ever thought my ppd average would drop to 6.7? Wow!

 

Hey, mine is actually around .67 so don't complain.

In january, I was averaging .98 posts a day. I had to work my ass of to get up to 3 a day`

 

Well, since this seems to be a thread about ppd, I guess I'll give mine too. Back when I registered, I didn't post for several weeks, maybe a month. (I don't remember.) Then I just posted a bunch. Now I got a 12.6, or something like that, avg post per day. YEAH!

BTW, I do think Refman is a very good poster. I read some of his posts and get amazed by how much he puts into it. I'd be lucky to get 3 of his avg length of posts a day. (did I word that right?) Most of mine are not that long. He also is pretty cool and funny, as well.

 

Post counts and ppd averages are overrated.

No matter - Refman is definately one of the best new posters and is quickly becoming a regular, much like Manny did. Congrats.

 

RC, you post TOO much. I've been here oyer a year and you're already about to over take me!

 

I think RC Cola averages about 10 posts per thread. lol.

 

Think how bad it would be if I didn't go to school, had Fantasy teams, and had a crazy family to talk about. I'd be much further then.

wow, i can't believe i'm over 8 posts per day...i thought i'd be around 5 or somethin. never knew i posted so much. oh well. i'm just waitin til i can get my post count to be the same as my nickname...thats the only time i'll celebrate my post count.

 

The reason why I respect Refman's ppd average is because I have never read a post from him where I thought to myself.... 'hmmm.. this is clearly a meaningless post used solely to increase his post count.' That is not the case with other serial-posters.

 

A big thank you to all of those who posted such nice comments about me and my ridiculous ppd count (damn I need a job ). I take this BBS seriously. My views are what they are. I try to contribute something in all of my posts...I'm glad it shows.

Besides...if there's ever a cc.net happy hour I'd hate to introduce myself and hear people say: "so YOU'RE the jackass that wastes all that bandwidth."

 

I don't think this can be emphasized enough. So many people equate quantity as not good quality. However, it is okay, IMO, to post a lot like Refman, RC Cola, Jeff, heypartner, drapg, me, etc. if you are bringing value to the board. I try very hard to post some serious stuff, but at other times, I try to bring up things that we can all relate to whether it is music, movies, cars, etc...sometimes, the lighter things in life. Hopefully, these type of threads are ones that can help people relax and get their minds off the more serious problems in the world.

 

i mean i love you guys and everything..
but none of this is anything to be proud of or to brag about.
is this popularity? this is a bbs. you guys should just post and not worry about numbers or quantity. its better that way in the grand scheme of things.
