Let's say NY does not want to offer him a larger contract and Revis demands a trade. If you were the Texans would you offer up Andre Johnson?

Why? We got Andre at a bargain relative to market with this current contract.

Revis is obviously great, but I think we are solid at the cornerback spot this year. If we lose AJ, what will our offense look like?

Hard one to answer, I started a similiar thread about Ashoumanou and the results were slightly pro-Andre. I THINK it is harder to find a great corner over a great Wideout but man its basically best DB vs best WR...can't really go wrong in my book.

By the way...Andre is the choice right now, I voted wrong.

I would package them both for Miles Austin if I could.

If this was before free agency and the draft, I might pull the trigger. Pick up Revis, and possibly fill a hole at WR with Bryant at #20.

Today? It wouldn't help us at all.

Heart says no, head says no.

While Schaub's ceiling can at times be debatable, we can agree that AJ either greatly increases the odds of that ceiling being reached, or greatly magnifies whatever production we can get out of Schaub.

Top wide receivers seem to be so for a much much longer period in their NFL careers. Last year it was Asomugha - still great, but this year its Revis, and next year it will be some other new great CB, imo.

I just think Revis will have difficulty replicating his season last year again - he'll still be one of the best, but the way he held top receivers last year was just unbelievable.

On the other hand, I expect Johnson to continue performing at the same level consistently for the next few years, at least.

    so the answer is no.

I would. Andre is getting close to the dangerous age were player skills begin to drop off. It's too bad Andre's talent was wasted on a up and coming team. IMO he will have like 2 years of awesomeness left before dropping off some. I would totally do the trade. CBs have a longer self live then position players unfortunately.

Care to back either of those claims with some evidence?

HELL NO. Look.. Revis is good and all but he's b****ing about a contract to be the highest paid corner/db. No thanks and don't want anymore big headed corners. I'll take Andre all day any day.

I wouldn't, but let's not underestimate Revis though. He should be paid as the best corner out there. Dude is a beast.

If all other things were even (contract implications, team depth, whatever) it would be silly not to consider it. Not sure the Texans need that sort of move at this point, though. They have young quality db's for the first time in a while.
