I'd offer him $20, but don't push it if he tries to decline. I've called people with lost wallets before, and I really wouldn't expect anything in return. I've declined reward money before. I'm a big believer in karma, and I was just doing a good deed.

And that's the 1,000,000 time somebody has tried to come in with a joke in a thread where somebody was asking a question/advice/help/etc. I think it's time to let that rest.

$20 is pretty decent. Personally, if I found someone's wallet, I wouldn't accept any sort of reward, and I suspect a lot of people are like that anyway.

I actually think $20 is too little.

I would eat there or pick up a pizza and leave a "tip".

I'm glad to see that there are honest people left in this world.

I left my iphone at a gas station once. I went back like 20 mins later and the clerk had my phone luckily.

educate him on the art of taking a shower after dropping a deuce. then give him a twenty.

or you can just give him a twenty without the aforementioned.

edit: that was a joke, btw.

$20 is going to deem you a cheapskate and doesn't value you're being considerate of a another person being honest to return if your wallet value some of the stuff that's very important to get all back. I would say $50.

50 or remind him you are packing and you want to know how he came about possessing your wallet. Then pat (wherever you keep your concealed weapon) with a grin.

    It'll go over well.

    Order a pizza.

When I was in university I left my wallet on the seat of a bus which had taken us downtown to a club. The bus driver eventually got back to me, however I thought I had more money in the wallet than what she gave back to me, I still gave her $20. Her not contacting me at all would have been a far bigger headache so I rewarded her regarless of the thievery.

I agree with this. Sure, there's no money but think of how much time which = money and trouble you would have gone through if this nice kid didn't return you wallet.

Gun license? Going in filling out applications, waiting for them to send you a new one, licensing fee.

Credit cards? Being on hold forever, waiting for them to send you new ones. The inconvenience of not having a card to use. Especially if you don't carry cash in you wallet I doubt you have a bunch of cash laying around the house.

Drivers license? Waiting at the DMV, paying $30.00 + bucks or whatever it is for a license.

Baby pictures and whatever else you might have in your wallet.

I do believe in Karma and good deeds and I wouldn't expect anything if I found a wallet and returned it but I'd drop a C-note without question. At least a $50 dollar bill. I ain't rich either but think about the trouble he saved you.

    I'd say 20 bucks.

50 bucks maybe if you are rich and had a lot of money in there.
