Firstly I think Madden 2003 will be the last NFL game I ever need to buy. It sounds like it will have everything needed for an almost perfect game! One thing Im looking forward to is the fact you can play games online. Does anyone know if the fact Im in Australia will stop me playing against U.S. competitors. While Madden sells well down here there wont be many people willing to buy this "modem" for the PS2 to just play Madden on the net. Anyway Im looking forward to this game. We might be able to start some type of Online Madden League. If that happens Im being the Dallas Cowboys! (Relax Im a weird Cowboys fan....you know...a normal person who believes other teams do have the right to exist!) It will also be great to play against actual forum member after created players are added. Now I just have to work out will I be a corner who can play on offence, or a star runningback and have aq similar style to the one I had in high school
With regards to it being the last NFL game you need to buy ... mebbe, mebbe not. EA is going to have to set up the servers themselves and may decide that if you want to play online that you have to buy each new installment of the game. But even if they keep the servers up for madden 2003(and free), most of the players will probly flock to the newer version anyway. On the national question, you should be able to play internationally. I know I was able to on the DC with Phantasy Star Online. Pretty cool hacking and slashing with Japanese players.
What sort of connection are you going to get ? Is it broadband? I'm not sure how the Playstation online deal works, especially in Australia, but to play people in the USA is going to be tough nomatter how fast yo connect.
At the moment I have a 56k modem. However, wouldnt the PS2 Modem be the right speed anyway. I mean, You wouldnt connect to the Madden server with you computer, you'd do it with you "build for it" PS@ modem wouldnt you? Im not hoping for anything great. I still think online play is a bit out of reach for the current game console systems (Im no expert though!). It would be good to play against people over the net though. Hell I get a kick out of online cheakers! Christopher
The PS2 Online adapter (which comes out Aug 27 for the cheap price of 39.99) hooks up to your 56K or broadband connection. http://www.psxnation.com/news/newsstory?idnumber=001281 check it out....looks nice.
It does sound good. I cant believe you'll be able to play with a dialup connection...however at 56 K I think I'll need to upgrade still Also it sounds like you'll need an external modem for this (I may be wrong, I know nothing about computers!). Its going to cost me a fair bit (In Australian dollars with are 50c in the U.S.) Madden 2003: $100 PS2 Online Adapter: $80 New memory Card: $60 Kicking a Redskin fans arse: Priceless Lets hope this all end up being as good as it sounds Christopher
Read that the other day. is there anything better then practicing mental disintegration on a friend while you belting them at Madden
