If I am a dem., I am doing EVERYTHING possible to make sure Steele is not replaced. The guy is a clueless clown, that is afraid to express his own personal beliefs because they are not far enough to the right, and no one believes his when he parrots the rights rhetoric..... the guy is worth at the minimum 2 Senate seats every few years. Amazingly bad.

Steele should stay because he's black, like a Republican Obama who gives Teabaggers feelings of hope and change.

I think it's odd that Steele who is the head of the GOP is playing the race card.

If I posted only that the irony would be intentionally lost on some of the GOP supporters and especially basso who was a big time Steele supporter who often accused Obama of playing the race card.

I don't define obsession as pointing out these things. It's just funny to see where the Republican in charge is at these days, and to bring out the facts about who is supporters were.

Is it obsession if someone in the GARM says McGrady is going to do great/horrible as a Knick, and then after a NY game people bring up a bunch of stats to prove their point? It happens all the time. It's no big deal.

I mean god forbid anybody should be held to account for their words or any of their opinions. I guess if folks try and do that it = obsession.

Affirmative action is horrible until you are a beneficiary. Only reason Steele is chairman is because he is black... he didnt even win enough votes. Break a leg Steele

Steele is such a hilarious goofball. I swear it's like he's not even aware of what he's saying half the time. He's like a far less attractive version of Palin.

Not buying it; you indeed sound completely obsessed.

The feeble attempts at denial push my diagnosis more towards the clinically obsessed standard.

As long as we're posting quotes, I want take the opportunity to again congratulate myself on this response to the news that Steele would head the RNC-

However, in the interest of full disclosure I made several subsequent posts saying I didn't see how Steele could survive the series of gaffes and blunders that followed.

    21st Century Media Laments

Republicans are facing the fact that as bad as it might be having Michael Steele as Chairman going on TV every day saying boffo, ridiculous things, there's a still worse possible fate: firing him and having him go on TV every day saying boffo, ridiculous things and trashing the folks who fired him.

    Tough pickle.

Steele, like George W. Bush, is a perfect example of The Peter Principal. Promoted to a job above his level of competence. He's also too "moderate" (here, a relative term) for today's Republican Party, where the true power rests with extremists. A minority in the party, but a minority that controls it. Besides being over his head, Steele just isn't as far to the right as that group would like to see in his position. They thought it was a good play at the time of his selection, but Steele better have a good life preserver. He's fixing to get tossed over the side of the sinking ship that's the GOP.
