That song wasn't too bad, thanks! Really not my type of music, but I think it would sound great on an episode of the Sopranos.
Sweet. Thanks, BK. Great lyrics... "I thought I wanted freedom, but love got in the way...". You should check out Tracy Nelson and Mother Earth. Her best love songs would make the little hairs on the back of your neck stand up. Just give you a chill. Saw them at the old Vulcan Gas Co. here in Austin in the late 60's. Dayna reminds me a little of her, and that's a compliment.
Any song by Creed. Two Step by DMB. Everclear, Roger Krieger. Songwriter's Lament, Nashville Blues, Cory Morrow. But the all time best, The Preacher by Cory Morrow.
I like the opening line. The first time I heard it-- "I've... made... love..." --I thought, "Christ, what a piece of crap stupid line." Then she finishes the line: "...with one eye on the door". Now that kicks ass. And no, this is not a nominating thread. Everyone already knows that the greatest song ever written was "Ten Years Gone" by Led Zeppelin, so there's no need to discuss it.
Maybe I'm the only one here who likes them but Sail On by the Commodores, has got to be high on my list.
