I was in LA for a few days for meetings, and my only high-profile friend took me to a place called "THE LOUNGE". WOW!!!!!

First of all, if I hadn't been with this dude, no matter how much the cover was(40 dollars), I wouldn't have gotten in. However dude is popular and we walked right in, past well over a hundred would-be patrons.

As soon as I walked in, my buddy spotted Justin Timberlake, I'm not a huge fan but I couldn't help but be impressed with how down-to-earth he was considering he was in a crowd of well over 400 people. My buddy introduced me to him, we shook hands and as he was about to leave, he told ME, "It was nice to meet you". and shook my hand again, very unusual, believe me.

After walking around and seeing some of the most beautiful women in one place that I had ever seen, I spot Kirsten Dunst. I didn't say anything to her, but I did order a drink beside her at the bar, she drank 2 kamikazee's with some other chicks then disappeared into the crowd, I finished my Jack and Coke and pressed on.

Later as I head to the restroom, my buddy taps me on the shoulder and wants to introduce me to somebody else, he tells the guy, "this is my friend from Houston", the guy extends his hand and says, "What up dude... Mark" as in Mark Wahlberg (the cool one)!

I don't really trip out on these kind of things because I have met lots of celebrities in my career, but I could not believe how freaking cool these guys were. Mark and I stood in the restroom line and chatted about women and such, I explained that I was there to meet with HBO about a script of mine, he congratulated me and playfully said, "keep me in mind". AHHHHHH YA THINK?

I was also introduced to Jose Cansenco and Richard Dent, both were cool guys and the women love Jose, even now!

Finally, lest I bore you, my manager, who had come with us, was arguing with some big dude in a remote area of the club. I went over to see what the deal was and the guy he was arguing with is a body guard...BRITTANY SPEARS bodyguard!

Apparantly my manager had been trying to talk to one of the girls in Brittany's crew, after being told to get the f*** on, took offense. I go over not knowing what was going on, my man starts to shoot off at the mouth and as I try to calm him, I notice that Brittany is watching, ****!! I almost beat my manager's ass!
I finally calmed him down and as we walked past her I gestured, eye to eye, that I was sorry, she gave me a nod of appreciation and smiled, I damn near passed out. Nice smile, laughed alot, very nice buttocks.

As I boarded flight # 426 this morning, I say to myself, in a way that I have never quite said before...OH WHAT A NIGHT!!!!!

What's your script about, AB? If HBO is interested, it must be pretty interesting. Did they bite?

They have a TV division that sells shows to networks (hbo productions formally hip productions). I have written a sitcom pilot, and yes they are pretty interested. Thanks for asking.

That's so cool. I think this tops The Voice of Reason and his Dell Guy encounter...:D

You gotta love La La Land! :)

Congrats on the script, man. That kicks ass. I have a friend who lives in Philly and has been trying to get scripts read. It can be a pretty tough road to hoe. Best of luck.

Fortunately, now is a great time for African American programming ideas. Bernie Mac is doing great, Damon Wayan's show is doing well and there are a few news shows this season with black leads. More fortunately, the days of less intelligent black shows are over and network executives are enamored with fresh clever ideas.

    Thanks much J!

Damon Wayans kicks ass! It's awesome you're into getting more mature black shows on the tube. Maybe it will drop the often used "black men are great athletes, as for the working world, ehh" stereotype that many times attaches itself to black guys. Good luck, Another Brother

Damon Wayans and David Alan Grier are two of the funniest, yet least recognized comedians I uhh... know. Those two usually crack me up no matter what they're doing. Throw in Tommy Davidson, and there's a trifecta... wait... I think I'm reassembling the cast of In Living Color.

... just so long as you keep Marlon and Shawn off tv, it's all good.

    AB,

Good Luck! It's always hit and miss with that format. My uncle had an ABC sitcom last year that was cancelled after 6 or 8 episodes. They never even gave it a chance. And this after he was on one of the greatest sitcoms of all time. He'd probably make a great "token white guy", though.:D hint, hint

That's some really cool stuff, AB.

Kirsten Dunst and Britney Spears are two of the best looking celebrities, IMO.

I think Wayans and Grier are both very recognizable.

Dunst is not old enough to drink. Lawbreaker.

These might be proof of Another Brother's story. She was spotted getting trashed on July 31st in LA.

    That's awesome!

I may be Evil, but I still say when the Russians send the dude from N Sync to space, they should send him straight into the meteor that might hit us...

I'm not suprised, my BROTHER loves Jose Canseco.:D .....ok, not like that. He's like his number one fan though.

Good luck on the stuff with HBO....

p.s. My Wife and Kids is the best show on the tube.
