Rockets to acquire Kevin Martin (UPDATE: 3-Way Deal Reached)

The fact that we already have a deal in place sending Landry over makes me think that the only reason the Kings would take on Hughes and Jeffries would be if the Knicks give them something aka a draft pick. Otherwise, why wouldn't they just buy McGrady out and let that 22 million come off their books because they are already under the cap and would benefit the most from having T-mac's expiring contract.

 

I love this deal. It is pretty similar to the one I posted, except Kenny Thomas and Sergio are going to different teams. Morey would be the greatest GM of all time if he could get K-Mart, Jordan Hill, AND draft picks. mwahaha

 

I was generalizing. Martin is having his worst shooting year right now. If he continues at this pace for his career in Houston (a possibility) then this deal will suck because Martin will suck. I don't think he will though. Even though Houston depresses shooters for some reason, I can't imagine Martin being any worse than 43% FG, 40% 3PT.

 

One of the perks in this trade is all you guys will be gone. You have no idea what it is like to truly live and die with your team. Do us all a favor and stay gone

 

if that's the case then they simply robbed us. they want to dump martin and others, we gave them landry and others from new york.

i'm not super excited about having landry leave but getting a scoring 2 guard is much deserved. Martin's health issues are worrisome though. But overall, getting Hill along with Martin woud help ease the loss of landry.

 

I can't wait until the dust settles and all the T-Mac fans are gone.

Man, you need to get in touch with reality. The Kings take on Jeffries' bloated contract and we get rewarded by receiving Jordan Hill, one first-round pick and the right to swap picks in 2011...are you out of your mind!?!?

 

Agree with this. We'll be lucky to acquire Hill, let alone first round draft picks some of you are throwing out there. Get Hill and I'll be fine. Draft picks are a bonus

 

is it possible morey is trying to get phx in the deal? i read that phx would possible let amare go for expiring contracts. kenny thomas, sergio, and armstrong are all expiring. it works on the trade machine too.

he hasnt shot 45% for 3yrs, about the same length of time its been since he was healthy... i refuse to be happy about a broken up player who seems to be on the decline.

I'm ok with this trade, maybe in the offseason with can use the MLE to sign a 7 footer that can be the back up to Yao and Scola (assuming we re-sign him) or Morey finds gold in the draft again on a PF...
