NPD data is 100% of retail sales AFAIK. They have to do more estimating for Walmart (and maybe a few others), but the data represents 100% of retail sales. It is for a PSP version of Gran Turismo. http://www.npd.com Just kidding. Though the data came from NPD, I got that info from Gamespot: http://www.gamespot.com/wii/puzzle/wiiplay/news.html?sid=6233163 FYI, normally if I don't post links, the data came from NeoGAF. Either from NPD directly (like the OP), or from posters in that thread that have some numbers/estimate. Guess I could link to that stuff too... Kind of worried for Evolution Studios. Last two games haven't done all that great. I think I've figured out that these are worldwide numbers. Are they also shipped, or sold? More data, with some repeating (taken from Raw64life's post at NeoGAF): At least Persona PSP did kind of OK...I guess. IIRC, they were shooting for 50K in Japan, so I would assume 25K would be OK for the first month in the US (granted, Japan sales ended up being 2x-3x what they expected IIRC). And PC rankings: From NeoGAF, via NPD. Numbers in the parenthesis represent rankings from last month (asterisks are for new games).
Are you sure? Granted, shipped=sold for a publisher, but they looked like shipped to me, after I looked at some other numbers. Uncharted shipped over 2.6M IIRC, and that number is at 2.61M. We only get sales from 2 regions reliably, so it would be strange if they matched up so well. Speaking of which, what is the source of the data?
I probably would, but I don't think anyone really tracks that (or releases their findings anyway). Although I think it is illegal in Japan and maybe a few other places, so we sort of know those numbers.
