    Amazing how time changes things. When I was a kid, "border states" had a definite Civil War meaning and nobody really thought about Mexico.

    I think specifically with college football, border states makes people think of rivalries amongst bordering states - Texas-OU, Kansas-Missou, Florida-Georgia, etc.

    Should be but we will have Potts starting again since Sheffield broke his foot and will be out 2-3 weeks. I think Tech was only by a touchdown going into the half vs New Mexico before Sheffield took over.

    A&m needs to be demoted to the WAC or Conference usa. They're a pathetic excuse for a football program, and an embarrassment to the great state of Texas.

    Check out these facts from the past 2 yrs:

    -overall record 7-11
    -overall Big 12 record 2-8
    -overall record against BCS opponents 2-10
    -0 wins against teams with a winning record
    -lost 5 games by 28 points or more
    -average of 45 points per game given up to BCS opponents
    -down 59-0 with 9:48 left in the 3rd quarter against underdog Kansas State
    -worst margin of loss to Arkansas since 1982 (28 points)
    -2nd worst margin of loss ever to Texas (40 points). Worst loss to Texas since the Spanish-American War.
    -Worst margin of loss to Baylor since 1980 (20 points). Down 41-6 in the 3rd quarter. 2nd loss to Baylor in 22 years.
    -Most losses in a season at Kyle Field (5)
    -Most points ever given up at Kyle field (66, OU)
    -2nd biggest margin of loss ever at Kyle Field (38 point loss to OU - the record is a 39 point loss to Baylor in 1980)
    -1st ever loss to a non-BCS team at Kyle Field since the BCS was formed (Arkansas St). 1st loss to a small conference team at Kyle Field since 1971 (Cincinnati)
    -Worst Aggie defense ever by yard per game (461.5 YPG)
    -Worst Aggie rushing offense since 1964 (88.5 YPG)
    First time getting shut out at Kyle Field since 1971 (Cincinnati)

    it's really amazing that A&M is as bad as they've been over the past several years. A&M's recruiting isn't good enough at this point to make them a national power, but they should at least be a team that can win 8 or so games. With the right coach, they should be able to recruit well enough to at least contend for a national title. There's really no excuse for A&M to be consistently worse than Texas Tech.

    No way! Deck is so old that to him border states means Alsace and Lorraine.

    (For the record, I don't expect a lot of folks to get that.)

    -Weighted recruiting class rankings on the horizontal axis (senior class ranking x 4 + juniors x 3 + sophomores x 2 + freshman x 1, combined, normalized, and ranked by team)
    -Current Sagarin ranking on vertical axis.
    -Above the red line indicates underperforming with regards to recruiting, below indicates overperforming
    -Distance from red line indicates relative magnitude of under- or over-performance

    So, umm, I guess I was wrong. Very nice comeback for the Miners after they let Tulsa back into the game in the third quarter. I hope Coach Price FINALLY has figured out that Buckram is the MFing MAN and needs 25+ touches per game...
