Every website I go on, especially facebook and the bbs, has these damn ads where you actually pay money to some website and submit a pic and they send you a pic of you as a cartoon. The ads are everywhere, and it just seems like the dumbest idea...

Have any of you actually paid money for this crap?

Hey guys...wanna see this super neato pic of me as a cartoon?????

    Everyone's doin it!

The only one I actually did was the burger king thing where you could create your own Simpsons Character.

My Simpsons character is still my facebook and myspace pic. I got that for free, so I'd never pay anyone or any website to make a cartoon of me.

Yeah. A neat concept, but an annoying ad concept. I can do that with Photoshop already, but I just don't want to. Actually, I have my own cartoon photo behind my desk right now.

The one for Burger King with the Simpsons is still up and you will have to do a bit of surgery after capturing the screen because the "save as a picture" function doesn't work. I simpsonized my entire famiy and used it as a background for myspace wayyYyyYyyy back. www.simpsonizeme.com
:( Sorry, man. But you know it's catching on.

Hey, at least you know WHEN to use them properly. Don't feel weird. Embrace it, darn it. Embrace it. :D

There is always murder. I've found it works as a particularly effective solution to ads.

I did it a year ago and use it all the time; it's not an exaggerated caricature though-- fairly realistic. It gets attention. Maybe I'll pull it after awhile.

Comment: I have never done it.
Question: How is this different than paying to a caricature?

Seems to be the same thing . . .

I remember back when you could actually go to an amusement park and find some joker who would draw a cartoon or caricature of yourself. Of course, you didn't pay anything other than what it costs to get into the place. Isn't is amazing at how far we have come when it comes to this subject? :p
