Was the Bush Medicare Prescription Drug Plan Socialist

  1. Yes - it redistributed the wealth, that is SOCIALISM!

    46.9%
  2. No - using such a loose definition of socialism is silly.

    see question.

As general background, the 2006 plan is essentially a subsidy (redistribution of tax dollars) from hard working, healthy americans like me to oldsters on Medicare to allow them to buy themselves their nitroglycerin and all the other junk they need.

For the record, I personally don't believe the Bush Prescription Drug Plan was a feature of the implementation of Marxist-Leninism.

For the record, I think you're an idiot.

And I'm all for revising healthcare. I'm not for giving away everything for free, however.

I intended this thread in order to prove my rule over the interwebs by entrapping BBS conservatives in the intellectual wilderness, exposing the paucity of their knowledge and the shallowness of their understanding of "socialism" and exposing its emptiness when employed in the health care context, and then smugly acknowledging my own brilliance after having vanquished my foes.

But it is now a Dr. Phil style Pity Fatty Party....which is fine and dandy as well.

    TY Fatty.

No, you threw up a brain fart of a thread with an antagonizing title, and you got busted for it.

If you're going to b**** about Basso threads, be prepared when someone calls you out for doing same.

In your opinion, was the Bush Prescription Drug Plan "socialist"?

Feel free to decline to answer on the grounds that you don't have enough factual familiarity with either the plan or socialism to make an assessment.

Oh, and i apologize in advance if answering the question hurts your feelings.

Why in the hell would it hurt my feelings? Are you high right now?

I don't think any of it is "Socialism." Healthcare needs some revision. Giving away everything leads to mass abuses. Do you think everything should be free?

    Thank you for your response.

No I don't think everything should be given away for free. So if the "Let's Give Everything Away for Free Act of 2009" were to come before congress, I would not be in favor its passage.

Got it. Everything I say causes a pavlovian response in you to comment.

No, just the really dumb things - and only when I have time/inclination. Which really isn't that often - you just say so many silly things that it appears I mock you a lot.

I'm not the one posting his whole life on the internet.

It might have been considered socialist if it hadn't been expressly mandated that the government couldn't use it's purchasing power to negotiate drug prices I guess it was just sort of a benevolent Corporatocracy.

That is because you are a liberal pinko who lives in Jew York City. Here in the remnants of the Confederacy which is being sorely tried by Mexicans, other foreigners and immigrants from up North like myself, it is clearly socialism.

Ask Refman if you doubt me.
