Negotiating prices at a fitness club

    And this is a sweet deal. I always try to avoid those situations where you pay on a monthly basis and they draft from your damn checking account. What a pain.

    Can't you just sign up at an old LA fitness and they go to the new ones...I think a friend of mine pays $30/mo which is pretty good and he's able to use the signature ones....

    There really isn't such a thing as negotiating at a fitness club.

    You have sales monkeys who are told what they can offer and if they go beyond that they get reprimanded by sales monkey manager.

    It used to be you could negotiate a price down, but that is almost a thing of the past. Now it is all about the weekend specials of end of month deals.

    Well, I just did. The sales manager had to come down to give me a deal, which included waiving the start up fee (LA Fitness signature nationwide) and waiving the 2nd month price, as well as a discount on the monthly fee. But I can't tell anyone about it, so shh. ;p

    $30/month for an LA fitness signature... I have a hard time believing that.
