Phil Jackson-Comments on Yao

    Phil was on Sporting News Radio, and when asked what he thought of Yao he said that he hasn't seen him except for the Olympics, but what he saw he liked. They also asked him if he saw any franchise players in this draft and he said no, but added Yao could be given time. Finally, he was asked if he had heard any trade rumors envolving Houston and the #1 pick and he said that he had heard some. He added that Houston was probably struggling with their decision given all the risks in taking Yao.

    Phillip is far closer to a disinterested party than any of the Ming Bashing GM's and reporters out there.

    Wow, I expected Phil to have at least some interest in the guy seeing he is a basketball coaching stud. It sounds like he has absolutely no interest at all. Surprising, that's all. However, I would trust his assessment if he gave one.
