Jordan - He was a terrible three point shooter, but that didn't matter.

Great topic, HP. Reminds of the days when the 3 point shot was actually kind of rare.

Some good names mentioned already. I'll add:

    Kike Vandeweghe.

    World B Free.

    Terry Teagle.

Was Byron Scott a good 3 point shooter? I can't remember. Same question for Dennis Johnson.

p.s. I do not remember Dominique as a great shooter.

Horace Grant. That 15' footer from the top of the key was the only shot he ever took. :D

Shawn Kemp. Before he was +300 pounds, he would hit the jumper way out to 20 feet, but couldn't hit the three a lick.

Yeah, gotta go with Jordan. When you think about it, it's really a no-brainer.

sorry, Michael Jordan does not count on this list.

Anyone who makes 5 3ptrs in the 1st Quarter of Game 1 of the NBA Finals has THREE POINT RANGE!!!

And anyone who shoots 42.7% on 260 attempts for an entire season HAS THREE POINT RANGE!!!

basically, the point is that anyone who has a coach and team that allows him to shoot more that 200 3ptrs in a season is not eligible for this list. % made doesn't even matter, as guys like Iverson, Maxwell and Starks clearly has 3 pt range while shooting only 31-32% .... jus

Maybe the Jordan early in his career would fit, but certainly not in the 90's... by the latter stages of his career, MJ was a reliable three point shooter as well. He shot an average of 35% from beyond the arc in his last three full seasons (before Washington).

Obviously you don't remember Mo's game then because the mid-range J was his bread and butter, Kenny's j was much more inconsistent and UGLY

NECRO THREADS!!!! This list is pretty hard to make for newbies, because pretty much every good scorer now has some type of 3 point range to their game,

Good shooters with no 3 point range -- Omitting West, Pistol Pete I believe they could/would be pretty good 3 point shooters. I actually think Dream would have 3 point range, if he played today.

    Retired/HOF:
    Alex English
    Adrian Dantley
    George Gervin
    Kevin McHale
    Jeff Malone
    Bernard King
    Dave Cowens

    MJ
    Arenas
(Kobe, T-Mac - Not sure, because they could hit 3s)
    KG
    Webber
    Vlade

    Right Now:
    Demar Derozan
    Pau Gasol
Al Horford (wasn't when he started his career, but he has morphed into a decent one, not sure I can put him on here)
    Brook Lopez
    Nikola Vucevic

    Julius Randle (is getting there)
