Well, he did the same thing in the last series @ Cincy. He was 1-8 with a homer in the first game. Hopefully the HR is a better omen this time.

I can't believe this. 5 runs given up in the first by Wandy. Suppose it was only a matter of time before the real road Wandy turned up. Even Aaron Harang just had an RBI

Man, that sequence sucked. Wandy misses the bunt and runner gets picked off at 2nd.

Dusty Baker back to his old tricks. Starts Harang after the long delay. How many careers will he ruin? Mark Prior, Kerry Wood, Rob Nen just to name a few.

I don't mind that call so much. Miggy definitely missed the bag. But if you're going to call it like that, call it like that EVERY time. Consistency is a good then. Either vicinity play exists or it doesn't.

Of course, they were all unearned. The bottom line is that Wandy has seemingly put it all together this year (finally). He has been consistent in a pitching staff where inconsistency has been the norm.

But, of course, the guy has a bad day and you just want to sling arrows, yammering something about the "real road Wandy."

    Brilliant.

They asked Aaron if he wanted to come back out after the delay apparently.

It's his first win over the Astros in two years... I can see why he wanted to finish it out.

I like giving Matsui the day off. He's looked lost at the plate for weeks.

It's called Miggy Pudge syndrome. :D

Speaking of patience, Bourn is still one of our few patient hitters but he has struggled a bit since being promoted to leadoff. Not much of a sample size but I hope he doesn't go into a funk. He's had some real bad ABs recently. 37 SOs on the season now, about the same rate as last season. He is walking a little more though.

Yea, I was just poking fun at some of our least patient hitters. Being aggressive against Roy seems like the logical approach. Roy's aggressiveness is a big part of his success. He's just had brief lapses in his command/concentration that have cost him this season.
